Trust me on this. Yes its a Jeep and will never be Cadillac quiet but get the the headliners. I've got the MOPAR factory ones.

THEN do the sound absorber mats. Dynamat or Siless or any other brand.
I bought these:

You don't have to completely cover it. strips just under the headliner. One $50 box covered the floor pan (I didn't pull the seats just did the floor pans under the feet) and the strips in the roof and I did strips in the doors and the back wall. and still had a full sheet left over. I'm going to go back in the spring and find more places to use up that last sheet.

The noise change is immense. The quality of life when you're doing the hard top is just priceless

AND:
If you're tall 6'+
And third (my next planned upgrade) is the Desertdoesit seatJackers.
Thank you! Will definitely be looking into this. $50 for a quieter ride is right up my alley.

I’m 5’7” so fortunately not much to worry about there. Being short has a lot of advantages.

Either in the front pax footwell, or the rear pax footwell. The VB WRX is built on the subaru global platform now so it’s actually a decent sized car. It’s not necessarily comfortable, but for 2 hours it’s fine.
doesnt seem comfortable or adding to quality of life to me based upon my gladiator experience but good luck!

Another sound deadener for the flood is armorlite.

That’s fair. Hopefully it works out! It is bigger than the VB so hoping for the best.

Off the topic but it sounds like you got rid of the Giulia for a WRX. As someone who is currently looking at Giulia’s I am curious to know why. What did you like and not like about that beauty?
Another +1 for the Alfa, I adored mine. Had to sell mine to make room for car seat(s), and I miss that thing all the time.

As long as you're OK with the occasional quirks, they're super fun and economical DDs.

Mine was black one.
All this talk has me looking at Alfas again.. Maybe if I could find an old Spider to tinker on over winter, I could tell the wife it'll be our "fun" or "date night" car if we ever find time to have fun or go on dates again lol

Go buy the Giulia.
^^^ exactly what I want to hear from a prior owner ?

Do you know if there’s a preferred center console vault
I was going to get the Tuffy because it has good reviews and has the combination lock so that’s one less key to worry about.

I have 2 Saab’s also so I’m definitely OK with quirks. For that Italian beauty I would put up with some serious flaws; you know, suspect reliability and all that. It also wouldn’t be a daily driver so that helps. Yours was the color that I’m trying to find in the right year and spec. The quad is super tempting but I would have to sell some cars before I could pull that off plus I don’t think I would use the power.

I was looking at the tuffy as well. The quad is sick… what other cars would you not give up for it??? If I wasn’t married I’d be in a QV right now.

Dude for real… even as a 3-Pedal slut I loved my Giulia. In hindsight I should have bought out my lease and dealt with the winters. Maintenance was expensive, but oh well… it’s and Italian stallion. you do what you must.

The WRX was a bucket list car for me, I had wanted one since around 2005. I test drove one the same day I bought my gladiator. I hated the WRX. On paper it was almost as fast as the old corvette I would have traded in for it; in practice it was a much worse driving experience. The salesman was an ass and the Jeep dealership was next door so we went and bought a gladiator instead.

Check the member listing area for wheels/tires. Lots of Rubicon takeoffs may be just right for you.

  • Hothead Sound Assassins floor liner (think thinner dynamat). Really helps with noise
  • Hothead Headliners - also helps with noise and they look nice.
  • Skip the WeatherTech floor liners. I had them and loved them, but a full ArmorLite floor liner is awesome. They fit over top of the Sound Assassins
  • A dead pedal
  • Wireless CarPlay adapter
  • Splurge item: Leatherseats.com center console top Qi charger
  • Grab bars, handles, straps
  • Dash Grab bar cubby for your passenger
  • Dog people stuff: Duluth traders dog hammock, Kurgo tether and back seat interior door covers (ThinSkinz)
  • A good hard tonneau cover, like a Diamondback
  • Recovery kit
  • Real first aid kit
  • Spill kit (if you go off road)
  • If you off road it stock, you’ll eventually need a winch. It’s a loooooooong truck
  • A mesh cover for when the top is down like a spider web shade. It keeps you from baking in the sun and it still feels like the top is down
  • Seat towel covers. They’re a pain, they don’t stay in place but in a pinch, like when you have wet people at the beach, etc., they’re useful and you can roll them up and keep them behind the rear seat.

Centerforce clutch. Total game changer! Pricey but you use it all the time.
