I just purchased a security bypass cable and an OBD bluetooth reader.

It was previously used for a JL. I dont see a reason this wont work for me with my JT when it comes, but when I get JSCAN, I plan to change the settings for my 35's I am running. My speedo is off a bit.

When I change this, will my MPG reading change as well? What about shift points of the truck?

I should have it in a couple of days. What should I expect?

I got everything connected earlier today. What is the process on you guys hooking up and changing settings and saving? i did all of mine with the engine running, but I did not do a "ECU restart" like it stated to do in the program. Every one of them (the ECU resets) i tried would not work in the app. I dont know how to even get my truck in ACC mode either without starting the truck? When I lightly press, it still turns the engine over.

The settings for the speedo calibration seemed to keep though. So I guess I did it ok.

Also everyone complains about the plugs being a pain to get out. Mine were simple and took me like 10 seconds at most.

Don't press the brake pedal. Push the start button.
I actually got to thinking about that after i typed it. You confirmed my thought.

Thanks for that. Is it best to program while running or in ACC mode, or does it even matter?

I use AlfaOBD, but I'm sure the steps are similar for Jscan as well...Here is how I do it....

  1. Unplug the 2 wires from the SGW.
  2. Plug those 2 wires into your 12+8 cable.
  3. Plug your OBD adapter into the other end of the 12+8 cable.
  4. Do not press your brake pedal, and push the start button. This puts it in ACC mode. Push the start button again, which puts it in RUN without the engine starting.
  5. Fire up JScan & tell it to connect to your OBD adapter.
  6. Make your changes in JScan.
  7. ECU reset.
  8. Without pressing the brake pedal, press start button--this should turn ignition OFF.
  9. Disconnect the 8+12 cable from the truck & plug the SGW back in.

Everything I've read says engine off; put ignition switch in "RUN" mode to program.

Where is the reset ECU on the menu?
