Hey Did you purchase an extended warranty from Walmart for the tires that should have covered it? I'm asking because that is the impression I had.
No warranty was purchased. This is going to be one I will have to eat I do believe, all in the fine print.

You have to escalate up the channels at Walmart. They sold you a faulty product. Once upper management gets involved they should sort it out.

I was asking that because im all over Wally's as much as I hate them they have some good prices and my local one does a good job installing/balancing them. But their warranty did not cover what you experienced no thanks.

Good luck with it

This has now killed ANY desire for a future Kenda..... I always assumed it was a Walmart Brand because that was how we find them.

The fact they are playing this shit? When it's always known as a Walmart Tire? BS!!

Sorry for your loss OP, but I know now not to even shop tires at WalMart..... they should support their sold product.
Kenda Tire is not a WalMart brand. They have been in the motocross tire business since the 80's. They are a Vietnam company and use a rubber compound that has been known to be superior to others used by well known brands.

Every tire manufacturer will have a failure. This particular one is the second I've heard from Kenda. Not bad. I run the R/T. 25K miles and no issues.

Figured I would be caught in the middle, so let the games begin. Kenda will not honor warranty because they say Walmart.com is not an authorized dealer, Walmart.com said the purchase was over 90 days old and Walmart store said I would have to deal with Walmart.com.
I deal with walmart.com quite a bit. You have to look at the seller. Just like Amazon, anyone can sell on Walmart and likely getting second had items. I got Bilstein shocks on Amazon and Bilstein told me the same thing. Amazon is not an authorized dealer so they will not honor warranty form amazon purchases. I am looking at the Kenda Tires now on Extreme terrain.

👉 This is years late, info/thoughts/suggestion to others - however the info may benefit others reviewing/researching this or similar forum threads in follow-on years...

Walmart sells tires on-line via/through many vendors. The vendor, if it is not Walmart directly, is listed on the Walmart website product listing page (see red box in image below) and is/was hopefully listed on the original tire order/delivery payment receipt.

E.g. if your tires came from Priority Tire (PT) highlighted in the red box in page image. Priority Tire -IS- listed as an authorized online Kenda vendor - list is here: https://automotive.kendatire.com/en.../authorized-online-retailers/?retailer-page=2

So following through on this line of thought, if your tires were sourced from PT, it might have been another option to appeal to PT (vice Walmart) as the authorized online Kenda seller.

Additionally if you had the tires directly shipped to you, and then had a local installer mount the tires --- appealing to the authorized selling tire vendor, is a possible strategy in the event of a warranty claim.

I realize this option is now too late for OP to act on in 2025, for warranty/ replacement - however it is hopefully a suggestion some info that helps someone in a regretful similar situation.

Of course dealing with a reputable local tire shop (authorized for specific tire brands) is anther strategy if you live in a city, or if you're not so far in the backcountry...

I will say that the other 4 tires now show about 45k miles and will likely see another 20 to 25k more before I replace them. They are still on the quite side for a hybrid and have worn excellent at 32/34 psi and 5k mile rotations.

I would really consider purchasing them again, but none of the local dealers carry them. They were a heck of a deal at $85 each, delivered but soon time to move on. Next set likely to be M/T - A/T.

👍I'd say that $85 price was a smoking deal any truck/Jeep owner would love. Likely a listing mistake by Walmart - but if so, they honored that.

There was a time quality imported tires had amazing prices, especially heavy duty All Steel Radial (ASR) trailer tires, as duties on non-vehicle (trailer) tires were lower. Post pandemic pricing on just about everything is a mess (higher). 🙄

Thanks @ourjeeps for posting this info. Exactly why I come to the forum to research and get insights from other owners.

No Kenda issues on my side, but I just bought a set of Kenda M/T2s and will file this away in case I need the info one day.

The Kenda MT2s look GREAT on a Gladiator!

We went with the Kenda RT (mid-way between AT and MT) for lower highway tire noise considerations. Recently had a set of Cooper Discoverer MTRs on a 2017 JKUR RECON - they got amazingly LOUD towards the end of tread life.
