I test drove a manual transmission Gladiator yesterday, never stalled out. But as I was pulling ahead once a light had turned green I wondered what would have happened if the key fob battery had drained totally. If that had happened then I don’t think there would have been any way to re-start the car. And if it had been an automatic transmission then no way to turn off the car. Anyone know if the car will send you an alert telling you that it’s time to quickly change the battery in the key fob? This is a good reason to always carry the other key fob with a fully charged battery, to carry spare batteries, to test the batteries frequently and maybe just to have a normal keyed ignition instead of a keyless one. I can see it now. Light turns green. Battery goes out. Car won’t start and so many people behind you laying on their horns and yelling at you: What’s the matter pal? Can’t ya get that truck to start up?

Hey @JeepCares what’s the 411 on this? Really love to know. I know you must have figured this one out a long time ago. Thanks to advise.

Anyone else got thoughts/comments on this?

Cool beans. Thanks Ralph. I figured Jeep would have planned for this contingency. Good to know.

My wife has a nissan with the push button ignition. It gives a pretty early warning that the battery is getting low. Like at least a few days or more before you would lose function. I haven't had an FCA vehicle with push button start but I would expect the same.

yup, page 19 in the manual confirms that there should be a similar feature:
