For kinetic, needs to be a rope, not flat webbing. Rock climbing gear is a great example. The flat webbing that you bought may have some stretch, and may be very nice for towing, it’s not static enough to be used as a tree saver, and not stretchy enough to work for kinetic- you have some tweener product. The weave does matter, especially around a fat core. When you stretch a kinetic rope, the fibers don’t stretch as much as one might think, and it’s that weave around a core that helps provide the illusion of a stretch.Guys, not trying to start a fight, but what makes it kinetic is the material, not the weave. Flat nylon straps stretch - ARB's strap stretches and it's flat.
FWIW there are video reviews on Amazon, it appears to stretch. I'm not really in a position to test it myself though.
For the safety of myself and others, I wouldn’t touch that product with a 10’ pole, and I wouldn’t waiste my money on it - get the right tool for the job. You have an elegant tow rope, that’s it. Don’t cut corners on safety products.
