KO3 or Ridge Grappler

I have been running Nitto Terra Grappler on my Mojave for the last 25K miles- 305 70 17's have been a great, non-lift size, and they ride much better than the Falcon Wild Peak. I also had the Terra Grappler on my last two Land Cruisers and I have never had a flat tire or out of round problem in about 100K miles. I cannot say the same about the KO's I have had, but I have not run the KO3's.

No love here for the Nitto Ridge Grapplers? I don't think I've ever heard a bad thing about them.

I like the KO2s when they are round.I just had one replaced because the road force number was 41 at best.Americas tire ordered a new one( free of charge) and all's well.Tread wear was at 13/32s so I qualified for the free replacement.Anymore wear and I would be out of luck.

I love my KO2's and am excited for the KO3's. It was a challenge to balance at first, but the rims were also cheaper than the new methods I put on. Balancing with the methods was fine. I also run load E on my 37's because of the racing and high speed desert trails/jumps I do. my old 35's were C and I blew 2 of them on the trails. It all depends on use case.

I also like the KO2's because they are more quiet on the highway than others. Almost dont even hear them in my Raptor too!

Comment on the balancing discussion: For more than ten years (Probably 15) I have not added balancing weights to my wheel assemblies. I use only balance beads.

Way back when, I used to pour in some copper BBs and some plastic pellets from submunitions. The latter would turn to a powder over time. I remember welding up my own HMMV steel bead locks (new centers) mounting heavy mil-spec tires balanced with that concoction which I ran on a highly modified W250 first gen truck. They ran out fine!

The balance media has become much more refined with advancing time and it all seems to work well. Just a couple months ago, I installed the Borah bead locks running 37" KM3s using 7.5 oz of the balance media. They run out like greased butter although you can hear them one county away!

As for tires, I run RT's on my dually 3500 Ram because I often get into muddy spots on my farm, and always always use mud tires on the jeep. Again going way back, BFG mud terrains have always been amongst the very best traction off-road tire of all. Much as I like Toyo, Nitto, Yokohama and even Kanatis, BFG KMs remain my go-to tires.

My Tire guy told me that The Nito tires ride rough due to a stiff sidewall. I never had any. Best tires IMO are Toyo. But I run BFG KO2 37s in C. They ride great at all speeds clear up to 80+. But, on a big 4Wheel parts sale I did get one that was really shaved. BFG said they don't do that,,,BS. They replaced it under warranty with a new unshaven one.

I'm with ya on this. I'm planning on 37" Ridge Grapplers once I make the move for new treads!
