One thing to remember whatever comes out of Manleys mouth can't be trusted.
Case in point google you tube video of the introduction of the Trackhawk at NYIAS
he said no more than 2500 units to make it unique...
One year later over 6K units made.

He will build as many and will price as high as the economy will allow.

Does it matter if you make 20K units at $5 K profit or 10K units at $10K it makes the same cash at the end of the day. And which will be more prestigious? Or capacity to manufacture that is always a problem with FCA ...capacity.

At what point did you think this mid size truck was going to be $100K?
My guess fully loaded this vehicle will come in at $75K

And yet these offer the most discounts on the dealer lots to try and move them. FCA overbuilt and should’ve stuck with the 2500/year.

I have really had my ear to the ground on the Trackhawk since first hearing about it.. I was at the NYIAS at the reveal, I didn't care what the price was I wanted one.

So I contacted over 100 dealers next day and contacted more until the order day in August 2017 and still contact dealers as some still contact me to this very day.

There are only a couple reasons they are still to be had.

The number one (1) reason is most people that want one will not qualify for a loan that high that want that particular vehicle. Remember FCA does not have a in house finance company like GM or Ford.

That's why they are still on dealer lots.

FCA made over 6.7K units according to Milous/Resume Speed.

But it is well known these are cash cows to FCA.

I was wrong he's RS's totals

2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk - 6.2L SC
Total Production:7,456

USA: 5,232
CAN: 692
MEX: 051
EXP: 1,481

Only 5,178 USA.

So if FCA made 10K at least off all those units thats $74 millon profit.

Just on JT,

my read is they think they'll sell out first round of production, 75,000 by Sept or Dec?

No downward price pressure, built ins are repeat serial jeep buyers, adds are new to Jeep, and extras are pickup truck buyers.

I'm sticking with MSRP estimate of $32,770 on JT Sport, no options.

I admit increasibg evidence suggests higher.

Amazing how a title can tweak the perception of an article. When I read a different article based on the same comments before coming here, I thought “10-15% isn’t much, they’re clearly expecting a LOT of new buyers for this”. This carbuzz article though... it’s as if they were trying to make it sound as controversial possible.

Yeah, if you do that math, 15% of Wrangler sales shifting to Gladiator would be 37,500. Fully half of their 75,000 production target. Meaning 37,500 new sales total between the two.

Everything else being equal of course. Still, not an unreasonable guess. I'm a buyer that would like a Jeep but can soon buy a Truck Jeep.

I'm a little foggy on who is the cannibal and who the food is though. I'd rather not be on the menu. Better look at a Prius instead, those people don't eat meat.

There’s no way it will come in at that price point. That would be awesome tho. Here’s to dreaming haha

Here's a solid counterpoint to what I've been espousing so far: If Jeep feels that the JL has plateaued, and that 200-220k per year is tenable, then they would be O.K. with the JT getting 50% of its sales from possible JL buyers. If that's the case, then that's good news for pricing. They could price the JT alongside the JL, lose a few thousand Wrangler sales to the Gladiator, and keep them as relatively parallel vehicles, with only a modest premium for the JT (maybe 5-7%/$2-3000 range?) I'm still skeptical it could be that low, but this allows for the possibility.

So do you still say $3,000 for the Sport but $7,000 increase for the Rubi and if so please explain your logic?

The competitor(nissan, honda, toyota, chevy, ford) Midsize trucks with automatic tran, power windows, 4x4, and crew cab start between $29k to $35k the most expensive is honda which includes moon roof and the rear storage. So the JT sport S w manual Tran should be between $27k and $33k. And sport manual between $25k to $31k. I'm guessing it will be more towards high 20's to 31k start. BASE ofcourse. Add auto transmission, tow package, hard top , cover/rear power outlet and your sport s will be over 40k msrp
