Like others have noted, the factory clutch leaves something to be desired. As such, I plan on prophylactically replacing it around the same time I have the diffs regeared. I've searched online and this forum to try to find what is available out there, and I'm sort of confused by the options.
I see @Bbannongmu runs a Centerforce and seems to love it. What models do they offer? I see there is a 'Centerforce II' that appears to be backordered and a 'Centerforce Dual Friction' that also appears to be backordered. What is the difference between the two? I also thought I read somewhere that there was a redesign of these and that's why there's a delay. What's that all about?
Centerforce's kit (on Quadratec) states it includes an upgraded hydraulic system. I was unaware the factory one had an issue. Thoughts?
South Bend Clutch looks to offer some options as well, but their website isn't very clear on this. Do they offer anything? They recommend a single mass flywheel, but I can't find any on their website. Does it matter if I use a flywheel from them or not? What are the differences in the stages?
My JT is a 2nd vehicle for me (no daily driving) and is only brought out for work and occasional play. I don't mind a stouter clutch pedal feel. I just want a solid clutch that can handle some work. This Honda Civic-like clutch has got to go.
