EDIT: 2022 JTR 5,800 miles
Welp, here we are. Did a search and didn't find the tread I was looking for.
So driving home yesterday. Ambient temp about 15, snowy but roads were clear, there was some ice buildup underneath.
Went to pass a RV. As I trans downshifted a few gears (about 3/4 throttle), and the left tires hit the center rumble strip, it immediately threw lights and limp mode. CEL was on, the red throttle sensor was blinking, and a service traction control message if I remember correctly. Foot to the floor with no power as others experienced. Was able to go 35. Pulled over, remembering a tread about this somewhere. Shut the engine off and restarted. only the CEL was on. It drove home fine the rest of the way - 2 more hours at 80.
My initial thought was the rumble strip kicked up a rock or vibrated the wheel speed sensors and threw a code. I dont suspect anything super serious since it restarted and then drove just fine. It could have been easy to damage one of the wheel sensors with such low temps and some ice buildup under the rig. Going to have a local shop just check codes on Monday probably before going 2 hours away to a dealer.
Just curious if anyone remembers that particular thread that had a very similar if not exact situation.
EDIT: I suspect it was an attempt to control traction as the lights and limp mode happened immediately as the truck downshifted and left tires hit the rumble strip which was filled with water, partially frozen from the 14 degree temps
