Figured I would do this as someone helped me. I learned from a mistake they made, and you can learn from a mistake I (sort of) made.

Removal was straight forward- Heat gun and a combo of “oops” “goo-gone” fishing line, and a plastic razor blade.

Used a laser level to set the “I” and backed up the laser with some painters tape. LESSON LEARNED- you don’t guess the height. You set the height so the next letter “A” covers the hole.

Taped the spacer in place and went from the “I” to the right.

LESSON LEARNED- from a very helpful member. Limitless gives zero instructions. The “T” spacer goes diagonally here and the edge of it lines up with the edges of the letters before and after. See these photos.

MAYDAY- caught my error right here. Between the ground not being perfectly level (it was very close as I put an 8 foot level on the tailgate) and parallax between the tailgate curve, my line wasn’t perfectly level. If you look straight across your tailgate, it isn’t flat, it has a curve. Here is where I could have gone very wrong.

Here was my fix and what I would suggest you do. Use a tape measure and measure up from the bottom of the tailgate. Mark 6 points or so on tape or with a grease pencil. Then run your top line with painters tape and double, and triple check it. If you do this, it’s very easy and difficult to mess up. I didn’t at first, learn from my mistake.

From the “I” left I redid my line as described and started it from the last “A” and went to the left edge of the tailgate so it would be very subtle correction. I think I was able to save it. The right side slopes up 1/4 inch across the width of the tailgate and to correct, the left side does as well.

What do you think? Is it too noticeable?
Hope this helps someone and allows them to DIY vs pay a sign person.

I can see the bow so to speak before reading your post, but it looks on purpose since it appears even.

Your the only one who sees it as you know it is there, no one sees it but you. Professional sign person might have the same results or some other minor imperfection.
Looks great I wouldn’t worry about it.

You’re both right. It measures out pretty dead on, but because I know, my eyes go right to it. My wife had a great point, it’s like when you’re painting and make a small error, it’s the first thing you see when you walk into the room for years…..and you’re the only one who would ever know.

If I ever care I’d see if I could talk “limitless” into selling me an “A-T-O-R”

This post is more to help others who go down this path as there is little information on the path others took to get theirs right (or almost right.)

Regardles of the slight error in exactness, the work looks good, enjoy....I'm looking at doing this to mine and my wifes soon as she likes the look, now to just convince my hands to let go of the wallet, lol
