Hey all,

Anyone have a reputable truck shop they’ve used? I’ve visited RMS off-road and was impressed with his knowledge and he didn’t try to upsell anything, but don’t know anyone who’s ever gone there.

Also went to the Truck Shop in Sayville. Not crazy about my initial interaction (the guy at the front desk didn’t even know there were lifts other than the Mopar available for gladiator and seemed less than enthused about talking to me)

Rob, we do everything at my shop in Huntington. Look us up on Facebook, Huntington Transmissions & Jeeps. Richie from RMS is a great guy & like you said very knowledgeable. Either my shop or his and you'll be happy. I'll have my Gladiator early next week and we'll start working on it right away. Mopar lift, wheels, 37" KO2s, track bar, Synergy front track bar brace & sector shaft, 5.13 gears, etc. You're more than welcome to check out our work after it's done and take her for a spin...It's going to drive better than stock.

RMS has a good name in the community though they are more focused on big fishing rigs etc. There is a 4wd shop across the street from Smith Haven Jeep, no idea about them.

We just did all the work at my shop, Huntington Transmission. Mopar lift, Synergy brace, JKS adjustable track bar, Fox Stabilizer, fuel Rebel wheels, BFG 37s. Alignment.
Came out amazing. I’d be more than happy to work with you guys. Justin

question. Do you feel you need to regear because of the 37’s? I’ve seen it both ways and gotten recommendations both ways. I’m just gonna go 37’s as I know 35’s won’t give me the jump in size over stock that would make me ultimately happy. Also heard good things about JKS’s system so possibly looking at that route

Most people stay with the 4.10s but with the 8 speed auto trans you barely get 8th speed. And when it does it’s in and out “searching” for the right speed. With a regear you’ll get more pop off the line and the trans will lock into 8th at highway speeds without searching. The RPMs will be around 2,100 at 65 mph keeping the motor in the sweet spot. Here’s the difference between 5.13s and 5.38s. Not much. We’re doing 5.38s Monday on a JL with 37s.
Also you’re taking the stress off the transmission which will help give it a longer life .
