Loud text messages

Anyone have a suggestion on how to change the volume when text messages are received? It's crazy loud.

I have the radio volume at 0 and my phone volume st barely anything, yet it is still super loud

stock, Android Auto, or Car Play? On AA as the message is received, or as a direction is given, that's when you can adjust the volume of that.

You need to adjust the volume while the text message is being read. I do this for both text messages and the GPS voice via the volume control on the steering wheel.
