With a front axle disconnect there should be no ratcheting right in 2wd

Or does the turning axle shaft then spin the carrier? So no ratcheting but you add driveline rotation on the road which would affect economy?

Man that's a mind boggle.

My scrambler has Spartan lockers front and rear. You run a very heavy 140w gear oil and it takes 70% of the noise out. It only clicks on tight turns really. Front with hubs unlocked it's not turning so it's totally normal.
Your spider gears still rotate because the left wheel is spinning. All the FAD does is stop the front drive shaft from spinning. Honestly, even stock I never got the sticker MPG and especially now with bigger tires and a lift forget it. I get the exact same MPG on my JT that I did on my JKU with a 4in lift and 35s. All that FAD does is introduce a weak point in the axle and another component that can and eventually will fail about 500 miles after the warranty runs out.

The lunchbox lockers replaces your spider gears the question is if it will cause clicking with a fad. I might lock one of my hubs on my old scrambler see if it makes a difference.
