Watch it! In 1978 I was at work and my 6 year old got in my pickup with the three on the tree shifter, shifted in to neutral and steered in to a oak tree. Walked in to her bed room and played until I came home. Did not know how my truck hit a tree.

Luckily, in 2022 there are safety mechanisms in this vehicle that help to elevate issues of the past.

I was going to pop in and suggest not rushing her into the driver's seat too quickly. There's no going back once this time is gone other than photos and memories.

Problem solved!

I worked for an agency that did adaptive equipment to allow people who had lost the use of their legs to drive........... I might still have some connections to get the brake and throttle adapted for her.
She's already doing it right - concentrating, both hands on the wheel. Good job.

I wonder if they make these in a Gladiator version?

So I just bought a new Gladiator Mojave for my daughter for her birthday. I thought it would be perfect for her. However, the first time she got in to drive, it was clear there is a MAJOR design defect in the seat height of this model.

See attached picture. How the heck does Jeep expect my very wonderful daughter to see anything happening on the road?!

Yes it definitely does. My “little girl” just graduated high school last week. Nothing can prepare you for just how fast it all goes.

I mean I love love love my gladiator... but the keyfob IS too big and DOES open in my pocket.

Lots of options to stop that. I went with the cheapest I could find..... a $6 silicone cover.... never got stabbed again.

Update - she just walks around the house saying “I wanna drive” and “big car.” Once she’s in that mode, she will only be happy in the driver seat.

This is my only daughter’s second day of driving to school. Another dipsh!t hit the car behind her and pushed it into my stopped daughter, pushing her into another car. We flew to NC and drove this mint little GLK home, now waiting to hear if it’s totaled.
