Finally made it to the Rubicon. Had a blast out there but the trip was not without it's issues. As soon as I got on the trail the rear u-joint started catching on the skid plate and we thought we had it fixed until we got to the start of Gate Keeper and it happened again so we got a grinder and notched it. Then right at Gate Keeper the ball joint on my drag link busted, my buddy broke the air locker connection on his front airlockers and bent his rear rim and unbeaded his tire. For mine we ended up using a tie rod to fix it but since it was too short I was able to turn left but not right so I had to make a lot of 90 point turns and we ended up just going to Buck Island and spending 2 days there and then heading out. For my buddies rig we were able to hammer out the rim and with a little lighter fluid and a match we got his tire fixed.

Ya got on the Rubicon in a Glady and had an eventful trip with stories to remember for a life time, better then just driving over some rocks with no excitement 🤪…..Jack

That's for sure. It was definitely an adventure and we are already planning the next one. 2 of the 4 rigs this was their maiden voyage and mine I haven't taken anywhere except just day trips so all in all it a success. Everyone had a fun time and all the rigs made it out under their own power one way or another.

Luckily this time we towed him since we broke the drag link and the temp fix made it so we couldn't turn right. I have driven him from TX up to Bear Lake at the UT/ID border and back.

No shame in a trailer, I was just wondering how you got it home.

That was an adventure on it's own. My brother's truck blew the cooling charger pipe just outside Tahoe and then 150 miles outside SA the CP4 HPFP went and took out all the fuel lines and injectors with it and we ended having to tow it and the trailer back into SA. It was two adventures in one.

Oh Lord, what an ordeal. Glad you made it back. Nothing worse than multiple major parts failures on the road.

i drove over a curb yesterday. Almost needed the locker. Amazing just being there. Breaking down sucks but i love the ingenuity in trail fixing stuff with things not designed to be a "fix" Someday I might try a trail like this.

Appreciate the offer. I'll have to remember that for next time. We didn't have cell service and ended up making it work and still had a blast.

Some curbs can be pretty brutal. Don't underestimate them.

How did y’all handle leaving your tow rig while you ran the trail?
