I am. I want it to look jeep. Already found tires, a winch, and trying to figure out where to get a cross box for the bed.

Nice. Where did you get the wheel and beadlock ring setup?
I don't do much on the scale side, but comp a bit and trail with a local Facebook group.
It's a fun and very addictive hobby for sure...

Here's a couple of my more favorite rigs:

TRX4 Sport

Vanquish VS410 that is a J10 Golden Eagle tribute:

They are all great looking rigs! Tell me more. I'm looking to build a good crawler and would like some details on the Power Wagon and J10. Looks like an aftermarket chassis on the Wagon? And is that the Pro-Line body? Any other details you can give me on either one?

I'll get some detailed pics up later to show the chassis with the bodies off.

PowerWagon: It's a Traxxas TRX4 Sport, still on the stock chassis, but with some Rock Pirates shock mounts. It has a Hobbywing Fusion Pro brushless motor/esc, with a FlySky GT5 radio/receiver setup. The flatbed and sliders are from IERC Scaler. The steering servo is a direct power unit from Reef's. It's stout. I modified a micro winch mount from a Vanquish VRD to fit on the front of the frame. It has brass hubs and portal boxes from Treal. It has some 13% underdrive gears in the rear axle.
Yes, the body is Proline. It has a full rollcage interior that I got off Etsy. The driver/passenger are skeletons off Etsy as well. The stuff on the bed (jerry cans, YETI cooler) was from Etsy. The Jack Daniel's barrel was a keychain. The engine block was a keychain as well. It's a small block Chevy btw, only because they didn't have any big block Mopar's. Lol I've since added some real, working LED lights on the front from Mues, to replace the fake ones. The local Facebook group does night trail runs sometimes, which is fun. The tires are Proline Trepador's, on some rims/beadlock rings I got off Amazon. The fake lockout hubs are from RC4WD.

J10: It's a Vanquish VS410 straight axle (no portals) chassis kit that originally had sort of a Toyota FJ body to start with. J-Concepts came out with a J10 body (called the Warlord), so that HAD to happen. The Golden Eagle decals are from Axial. It also is running a Hobbywing Fusion Pro brushless motor/esc with a FlySky GT5 radio/receiver and a Reef's steering servo & winch servo. The VS410 transmission has a selectable dig unit, which is really handy, but most crawl competitions don't allow you to use it in Class 2 Comps. It also has selectable overdrive to the front axle; 15% and 45%. The tires are Nitto Trail Grappler copies that came off an Axial Capra. The wheels are Injora brand.

Dude...this started about 5-6 years ago when I bought my son and grandson some SCX24's. Then figured I'd better get one to crawl with them. 11 total 1/10 scale rigs now and 4 total 1/24 scale rigs. Most all modded out of course. Lol

Wow! That's some detailed details, man! Thanks, I appreciate it. Good to know that the dig isn't allowed in comps. Not sure if I want to compete, but it's something to consider as I was thinking of just getting a VS410 instead of building.

The other route I'm considering is this Injora lcg carbon fiber chassis I found on their website (not the TRX4 one). It comes with a transfer case that has two rear outputs, 1:1 and an underdrive. https://www.injora.com/products/inj...iber-chassis-kit-for-1-10-rc-crawlers-inc-10f
I have some trx4 axels I could throw under it. Put some brass bits on the ends with good tires, a Fusion Pro motor, good steering servo and I feel like that might be a decent crawler. Don't really know though as I'm very new to the hobby. Bought my first crawler, a TRX4 Defender, in April.

I was perfectly fine with my 1/24 scale and then I found out they made a 1/10 scale and found one FB marketplace for cheap and now I found out they make a 1/6 scale. Although the 1/6 isn't a Gladiator it is a Wrangler it is still a Jeep so it will work. It never ends with these things. Now I am on a hunt for a 1/6 scale.

for comparison the SCX24 & SCX10iii

Right on!

The comp thing is a lot of fun. Like most things, there are people that take it way to serious, but still quite a few that are like me, just out to have fun. The hobby world does bring out some interesting characters...lol. You should try one; they will hone your crawling skills for sure.

The good thing about the VS410 is the modular trans and turn angle of the F10 axles. In fact, the only downfall of the TRX4 platform is that you simply don't get near as tight of a turn as you do with most other crawlers. The trans on the Vanquish has a lot of upgrades available, etc.

At the end of the day, you really can't go wrong with either one. Building is fun too. Frustrating at times, but rewarding when it's all done for sure.
