Mini Tazer forgets settings

I’ve had my Mini Tazer for over a year and I’ve noticed it forgets a single setting sometimes. One day it forgets the 3 honk setting. Another time it’s a different setting. This wasn’t a big issue till I got my bigger tires. Today it forgot the lower TPMS settings. Easy fix but I didn’t know till I was rolling. I’m hoping it doesn’t forget the tire size.

My only suggestion is to unmarry it, do a firmware update with the computer, and then marry it again.

Mine has done that a few times before, not lately. I would say…. It’s not uncommon. Electronic things just ‘act weird’ once in a while. Not any different than your cell phone acting weird and you have to reboot it.

And knowing the Tazer is extremely picky with the overall process of removal and installation (if you don’t get the process done right, you can/will have issues)…. I would highly suggest you go thru the entire unmarry & removal process, hook it up to your laptop and download the software again. Even if there are no ‘updates’ - download the current software again to get a fresh copy. Then…follow the installation process perfectly (marry, reboot, sleep, etc).

Mine was doing this. Double check you're on the latest firmware.

3 months after installing it forgot settings. I unplugged and plugged it back in.
Worked fine for another 3-ish months and did it again. Unplug and plug back in.
Then it started happening with less time in between until it eventually would happen within a few days of each other. Unpluggin and plugging back in always "fixed" it.

Mine would also only forget some settings. The first time I noticed it was because the brake flash wasn't working. Second time I noticed it was because the 3 honk kill wasn't working.

I reached out to ZAuto, they said to do a wipe and reset, so I did but it didn't help. That was on the previous firmware version. Now I'm on the latest firmware and I haven't had any problems yet.

I have two Tazers. One in my wifes 2019 JL and one in my 2023 JT. Never had an issues.

try updating the firmware

I've had a tazer for over 3 years now and it has done it on every firmware they've released. I usually notice it with the 3 honks. When it happens I cycle to the settings menu without changing anything and that fixes it. If I remember to cycle thru them every week or two it doesn't happen but I eventually forget.

Mine recently forgot one setting but after unplugging it and plugging it back in, it's been working since.

Guess I need to check firmware if it happens again.

Mine does this from time to time but not often. All i do is wake it up by scrolling through the tazer options on dash and all works as it should immediately following doing this.
