OK, let me preface this by saying I currently have zero intention of changing shocks on my Mojave, but since no one can seem to give a definitive answer on when they will need to be rebuilt or replaced, I was looking around for options. Assuming I lift it in the future, I plan on it, is there any reason this would not work to allow the use of aftermarket shocks without drilling holes out, etc.? I know it will work for the Icon shocks, but would it not work for others too? Does anyone know of similar solutions? Like I said, not looking to change one of the best parts of my Mojave, but I also like to be prepared!

I suggest contacting FOX Tech for service recommendations / requirements: [email protected]
Many lift kits have extensions for shocks .. not sure this would apply to our Mojave Fox Shocks; perhaps FOX tech could provide a response.

I already tried that last year, and they told they couldn’t talk about proprietary Jeep things. I guess I could try again and see what if that’s changed in the year I’ve had my Mojave.

EDIT: I reached out and we will see what they say:).

Nobody could give you a time frame for shocks lifespan. Some people will romp it out in the desert weekly and some will go to the mall weekly. The thing that’ll shorten the life of your shocks will be improper lift kits bottoming out/ over extending your shock and wrecking seals. There are shock extensions to give 2 inches and allow a 2” lift. The thing to realize is that spacers and shock extensions don’t give any more travel then the factory suspension so become cosmetic features. Sure you can go up to a 35” tire but that’s about it

I’m shocked at their life span. I figured they would be more like the dssv shocks on ZR2 Colorados. Those last a long time.

That’s what I was hoping for too. Those dssvs are rated for the life of the vehicle, but are rebuildable as needed. Of course, I don’t know what that translates to in the real world…. I love my Mojave though, but this is a touch annoying. Everything always has a price I guess…the rebuild prices look reasonable though…

Right on. I had 37 on my Mojave for a week before my lift installation and it was fine on the street. I’d never off road it that way nonetheless

What lift did you go with? Did you change the shocks? Lots of folks are wheeling it with no lift and 35s, but I wouldn’t try 37s. Yours looks sharp!

Thanks. I have an Evo stage 4 with 2.5 kings. My intentions were to keep the factory shocks and get a spacer lift… but then I got bit by the bug. I actually have a currie rock jock 2” spacer for the jounce and 4 shock extensions in gonna let go. Had them on for a couple hundred miles

I blew a DSSV on my ZR2. Replaced without question by dealer.

I wish the Mojave had DSSV's, my ZR2 handled way better than my Mojave does.

If DSSV's ever become available for Jeeps that would be a sweet thing!
