I'm looking at changing wheels to better accommodate 35" tires. I've read conflicting things that the rubicon wheels wont fit the mojave due to steering knuckle and shock clearance. If that is true, then would it be true that AEV wheels wont fit? Basically, i want to fit 35 x 12.5 (or metric eq) on a 8.5" wheel without having the bro-doser tire stick-out look.

Stock Rubicon:
17" x 7.5" 44.45mm offset

Stock Mojave:
17" x 7.5" 37.17mm offset

The AEV Severge 2:
17" x 8.5" 25mm offset

I'm not super clear on backspacing/offset etc, but if I understand this correctly, the AEV wheel will actually be a touch closer to the components than the rubicon wheel on account of the width? Which means if a rubicon wheel wont clear Mojave components, the AEV can't either....unless the mojave wheels were spec'd with extra "margin", but I'm not sure. I like the look of the Black Rhino arsenel type wheels, but Im concerned it will be too "sticky outy"...

Hoping folks with expertise can give me some education/clarity. @DaytonOhioGladiator ?

The rubicon wheels give you 7mm less inner clearance and 7 mm less outer position.

good link, thanks. So, the AEV wheel is only .7mm closer than the factory mojave wheel. So as long as the tires clear, it *should* be good to go, based on my understanding of what you have posted.

I measured my Mojave for wheels last week. I'm a dealer for some forged wheel brands, and spec'd out a set of 17x10 +12 Forgeline wheels built for it. I plan on running 37 x 12.5 tires. I went with the same offset (and tire centerline) as the Mopar aftermarket Jeep wheels, because I like how they sit relative to the fenders. Not too far stuck out.

I didn't see any clearance issues related to steering components. If anything, the lower offset Mojave wheels were done to provide more clearance on the rear shocks, since they are larger diameter shock bodies than the Rubicon. Here are some pics I took.

super helpful. Thanks.

From your experience, would the AEV wheels on 35 x 12.5" be able to clear that rear shock? (best unofficial guess....)

They should fit. Those AEV wheels still move the tire centerline outward 12mm (+37 OEM vs +25 AEV). We already know a 35" and 37" tire can fit on the OEM Mojave wheels and clear. AEV should have more clearance on the backside of the tire.
