Is this just on the X? Or every Mojave?
Oh yeah, this is on every mojave.

I actually bought the Mojave, didn't like the sound system, and upgraded to the Mojave X like a week later. Both of them do it, can confirm.

Some of us that run 37" tires with 4.10's would beg to differ on your comment.
I still see 8th all day. I am currently getting 18.3 MPG. I can still tow 4k. I think I'm good.
"Can you" sure.

Is it putting a higher mechanical load on the diff, engine and transmission, absolutely.

The main things to note, under use, 37's on 4.10 gears it'll feel a little sluggish compared to stock, the engine and trans will run a little warmer, and stock on 33's high speed off-road in the sand my oil temps will already touch 230-240 degrees. So yeah the thing about physics is, they work every time.

The 18.3 mpg claim isn't very telling, like is that freeway? city? combined? I mean if it's combined, you're beating my stock mojave on 33's. LOL and you see 8th all day? Im guessing this is city driving, because that surely ain't happening on the freeway at 75-80mph, I'd bet money on it. Oh you might see 8th down hill some times. LOL But my benchmark would be on flat road doing highway speeds. Heck just a 10mph head wind will knock me out of 8th. LOL

On 37's if you want it to feel "stock" again, you'd want like a 5.13 gear. You could tow the same as stock, handle hills while towing, etc. I've done the big tires on stock gears, anyone can tell you what it's going to do.

my comment about "requires a regear" just means if you want it to handle like stock, you'd want a regear done on anything over 35"s.

I mean "technically" you could run 40s on stock 4.10s, is it gonna drive good? Nope, will it break if you drive it hard, yup. lol

Wait ….what? No offense…. But … How can you buy a vehicle (especially a new one) without knowing what you’re getting??
I was wondering exactly the same. Sort of like buying a new Wrangler, getting it home, and realizing it has the 392 under the hood?

"Can you" sure.

Yes, I can.

Running 30" tires in soft sugar sand is doing the same thing. A "higher mechanical load" happens without changing tire size. Mute point.

So based on your "physics", I shouldn't be doing anything with my JT except going to the grocery store. Off Road, Towing, pulling tree stumps, driving the Blue Ridge Mountains with my a/c on high...all contribute to higher temps. If I was concerned about it, I wouldn't own it.

My 37x12.50x17 tire and wheel package weighs less than some 35" packages. My rolling resistance provides better performance than other smaller tires. That is physics.

So what is not telling? 18.3 mpg is today, combined driving. It drops on the interstate to in the 17's, if I go over 65mph. I see 8th on I75 or I95 north or south until I hit a hill. It will downshift to 7th, sometimes 6th, back to 8th when the road levels out. Everyone has different driving styles, your results will not mirror mine.

my comment about "requires a regear" just means if you want it to handle like stock, you'd want a regear done on anything over 35"s.

With the 8 speed transmission, I don't need a regear. I just proved that by my interstate driving. If the engine needs a lower gear to maintain speed, it will downshift to that gear. From a stop light, I have enough power to get me going without issue.

I mean "technically" you could run 40s on stock 4.10s, is it gonna drive good? Nope, will it break if you drive it hard, yup. lol

In my defense of not paying attention..... I was trading in a brand new JT Rubicon that was giving me issues... I was not really looking at the sticker more than I was looking to see if the Mojave drove like the Rubicon. It was smooth, so that sold me along with exterior visuals. Had no idea the X was all the other goodies. Let the dawg pile resume :)

I wanted an X, but didn't want painted fenders or leather. They would get destroyed down here in Southern Utah. My black ones are bad, but easy to replace cheaply. My Mojave has Alpine and all the stupid nannies that I don't even use. Only thing I wish I had were the steel bumpers.

Yea, I love when someone says gear change "required"
Always makes me smile.
Been on 4.10 crate axles and 37's in my JK since 2012.Is it the ultimate, naa, definitely not requiring a change though.

To be fair, the only thing on the sticker is the X next to Mojave like it's one letter, it doesn't stand out on the sticker at all. Unless you know what the X comes with it could easily be overlooked. But it's the one to get if ya can do it. :like:

But it is kind of funny "whoa fellas the X comes with a lot" LOL

Personally, i wish it had an emblem down on the fender showing it's an X. Nothing on the truck tells you it's an X unless you know the features.

i should of expanded since it wasn't obvious my meaning behind what I said.

"required to drive like stock" I didn't mean it wouldn't work, of course it'll "work" but it's not gonna be as fast as stock, drive like stock, run wide open like stock. There is pros and cons to running 37s on 4.10 gears. Like yea, goofing around the city mall crawling, yea it'll do that. But me personally? I sure as hell didn't buy a Mojave to mall crawl.

Hammer down across the sand? hmm. Ok, $100 says you won't keep up with me. The Rubicons are not Mojave's. They are two trucks built for completely different types of off-roading. With what the Mojave is built for, running oversized tires without a re-gear would really hurt it's performance.

Kind of like how your 37's on 4.10s kill your 4xlo crawl ratio. Will it crawl? Of course, but will it be the same if it was stock ratios? Of course not.

Yes, I'm a mall crawler, just ask the boys and girls at Rausch Creek lol.
I won't keep up with you? Sonny, I've been wheeling long before you were on this planet. Back when you had a cj and a Warn 8274 and a hi-lift because you needed it, not to look tough. Man, I did my first wheeling in a M151 in the jungles of SE Asia.
Those 37's crawl just fine with my Ls6 and atlas tc.
I don't ride around in the desert at 100, I crawl out in the woods over rocks and stuff.
So as far as you lecturing me about wheeling is a total waste of both of our time.
Meet me at the cruicible at the creek this summer and show me. You can save your 100 bucks, I don't need it.
Be careful out in the desert going 100 wouldn't wanna see you scuff up that big Mojave.

Happy New Year my friend.
No point in you answering, I'm done.
Whiskey Tango Foxtrot, over and out
