I'm trying to put a long awning on my JT, but it needs supports near the rear of the bed AND over the cab. (They supports have to be 6' apart at a bare minimum, which I can't do with only supports from the bed of the truck.)

OPTION 1: The easiest bet would be a Frontrunner Slimline or Pioneer Platform, as anything can mount along them. MY worry here is about a rigid item with mounting points both in the bed and to the cab, because I'm assuming some small amount of flex needs to occur between cab and bed, yes?

OPTION 2: Add a Rhino Rack load bar above the rear seats (leaving my Freedom Panels still available) and just connect the awning from that load bar to the load bars above the bed of the truck. My concern here is whether a Rhino Rack load bar with gutter mounts will really support the stress of an awning hanging off the side of the truck, or whether it'll just pop off the opposite gutter.

OPTION 3: Add front-to-back load bars to my existing load bars (basically make a T out of load bars) to give the awning extra support. I don't know that this would really help at all, though.

Thoughts?
Thanks!
