Have a 21 Willy's Gladiator with the Mud Terrain tires. I drive 99% on regular roads and highway. What's a quiet 285 70 17 tire that will be a better fit for me. Do I even need a LT tire or will a P tire be even better?
Thanks all

Probably anything AT (as opposed to MT) will suit your needs. The harshness is mostly because it's a mud terrain, not because it's an LT tire.

Because many jeep owners take their AT tires off and put on aftermarket tires, you may want to look for some take offs.

Also, the MT tires on Willy's rims are pretty desirable. You may be able to buy a set of mounted AT tires on similar or Rubicon rims for about the same price you can sell your MT tires on Willys rims.

I personally like the Willys rims the best of all the OEM wheels.

Check out the classifieds here as well as on the JL forum.

What they said.
I’ve been impressed with the aggressive A/Ts on the rubicons, the BFG KO2s and Falken AT3s. Pretty quiet for how aggressive they are.
So unless you switch to a total road tire like the Dueler’s that come on other trims, I think those are a pretty good compromise of ride/noise vs traction.
The KO2 and AT3 are three peak rated as well.

Toyo AT III are pretty decent ATs quiet and good warranty you can get them in LR C which is fine for the JT, they come in a few sizes including 285/70/17s I would not put P tires on a JT.

I’ve got a set of factory Sport S wheels and tires I’ll trade ya. Sounds like the Bridgestones are right up your alley.

I don’t notice any tire noise from my Falken AT3s at any speed I’ve driven (up to 85ish). They are 285 70 17s and C rated. Mind you though, I only have about 2k miles on them and I think ATs and MTs can get much louder as they wear.

My Falken AT3s have 32K on them and they have not changed nose levels since new. All around the best AT tires I have ever owned. Good ride on road grip in sand and mud.
