Yeah I’m not wired for rear end use yet. (Yes I just said that) I’ll get a kit ordered and get it installed in the not too distant future. Gas prices are coming down!! 👍
I switched to co2 a while back. So no power needed. I only bring a compressor on trips so long that there’s a risk of using it all. But I prefer bringing a second tank instead.

I’d be paranoid having a tank under pressure in the back. I know it’s really not a risk but in my mind it blows up and shoots shrapnel all over the trail. Lizards perish in uncountable numbers and the desert turns to glass. 🤷‍♂️

They’re rated for such high pressures that you’d need to be exploring a caldera for that to happen. Even in Moab in the summer, with it under my black soft topper, it never gets even close to its limits. Like half. I do always close the main bottle valve, and release all pressure from the regulator after use. I only want pressure in the bottle, not the regulator used to dispense it.

The other thing is that these are designed to vent safely if they reach like 3000psi in the tank. So they would never explode. In the hottest conditions I’ve never seen mine above 1500. Check out preeceproducts.com. Awesome company and products and way less than the obvious competitor. Their regulators are SO nice. The tanks are DOT certified.

I’m fairly well versed in the tanks. Many moons ago I carried a Broco Torch for breaching in some dicey situations. Those were Kevlar wrapped tanks though. I was being slightly facetious on it exploding but only slightly. I try to mitigate, as much as possible, things that COULD go wrong so I don’t have to deal with em if they do go wrong. They are pretty impressive as far as fill up speed. I’ve seen a few people with them on trail runs.

I get way more nervous with flammable stuff. If we’re camping the propane is always in the trailer. Not in the gladiator. I see co2 as being pretty benign in comparison.
