Yeah, I watched a rerun of The Price is Right from 1982, and they showed a Jeep, and it looked the same as they do today.

It was also $10,000! So it looks like they were even more expensive back then. Most cars they give away in that time period were in the $6,000 range!

My grandfather served on the Arkansas prior to the war. He did his service and was discharged in 1939. Surprisingly they never called him back. The next time he saw the ship was when National Geographic published pics in the 80s or 90s of it sitting on the bottom. It was scuttled during the Bikini Atoll nuclear tests.
