Hi. I have a 2021 gladiator mojave.
today I went to start it and It wouldn’t start. I jumped it and took it to have the battery tested and it failed. I replaced the battery but there is something it doesn’t do now that it used to do.
I used to be able to leave the headlights in the on position and when i turned the vehicle off…it was never a problem.
now when I turn the vehicle off with the lights in the on position, I hear an audible beeping noise to tell me lights are on.any ideas on this would be very appreciated.
thanks in advance

Maybe you bumped the headlight knob to "on" from "auto". If the headlight knob is "on" the truck will ding when the engine is off untill you turn the lights off or to auto as with most vehicles with auto headlights

Did you replace the Aux battery? Both should be replaced at the same time, especially when they die like that.

Some settings and subscriptions can take up to 24 hours to reappear after a full power loss, such as a battery change.
Give it another night.
Also, there are two batteries. if you didn't replace the auxiliary, and it too is bad, then your system may not allow things like the headlights staying on for a minute, because you still have low voltage. A failing aux battery will suck a new main battery dry, trying to charge from it.
Best to either replace both or bypass the aux battery.

Thanks for the replies. I didn’t also replace the auxiliary battery. Should I ? If so what is the approx cost ? And is it easy to do myself ?
thanks again for the help. Very appreciated.

The two batteries are paralleled together all the time, except during the startup test and during ESS events. They essentially operate as one battery, most of the time. The Aux battery may not be bad, yet, but going dead decreases its capacity and ability to recover.

The Aux battery is around $125. They are not difficult to replace. Disconnect the Main battery and isolate the cables while changing it.
