Ok, so now that my lift, wheels and tires are on momma is not happy with my RC nerf bars. The steps are to far forward and makes it hard for her to get in and out. I measured the bars from each end and they seem to be the same so I’m 99% I installed them correctly. What are other people using? I’m not looking to spend a fortune because I know I’m going to take a bath on the RC steps I already purchased. Thanks for the help!

I went Mopar. Lighter weight and full length step pads.

I’m not a big fan of the full length steps but honestly those don’t look horrible. Thanks!

You might check out the N Fab Podium rails. They have a nice big step on them. From what I’ve seen most steps on rails are in the same general spot. The bigger foothold might be the trick. Either that or you’re going to be in the doghouse if you don’t pick up some full length steps haha

Good luck to you sir!

Yeah I have plenty of other things to be in the dog house for. Don’t need it to be over something like this.

This is what the Mopar steps look like on the Gladiator. They may cause a different issue, since you have yours lifted, of being too far off the ground for her.

I think I thought about the OEM running board but realized it wouldn't solve my wife's problem- she'd still have a high step up to the running board itself. And in the winter up here with snow & ice, that's still a difficult first step.

You could try the Go Rhino brand step rails. They have steps that you can bolt onto the bottom of the rail where you want them. I have them on mine. I don't have the steps bolted on yet, but I don't have it lifted either. They have different models also, If you would like a different look. I might be able to put one of the steps on in the next couple of days and post a new picture. I will see if I can install a little further back then where your loop step sits. I had been wondering where the best location would be.

I think those are the ones I was looking at but they reviews and install instructions are not very good. Did you have issues installing them?

How about just taking your RC nerf bars to a welding shop and have them move them?

More of a hassle than I want to deal with. I think I’m going to keep the RC ones and momma can deal with it. If they bug her enough she will tell me to get new ones. Haven’t got to that point yet. Thanks for the idea though.

I really like the bars. They provide a nice large step. they stick out past the fender flares a little. The fit was not perfect but do-able without mods. Had to put all bolts in loose and then tighten them up. Just put one of the drop steps on, had to wait for ice to melt off board. Step fits much worse. The bolts that go through the platform fit OK, but then the plate that bolts on to the under side doesn't line up. I have one on now, but need to find spacers and or longer bolts to fasten the smaller underside bolts. It does seem pretty sturdy as it is now for stepping in, but the other bolts would help off road if you came down on something. That step can be moved back and forth on the rail by using different holes on the platform.
I'll take a picture of the gap underneath tomorrow if it is warm enough outside.
