Hey all,

I'm planning a Mojave build with a RTT and I'm currently restricted to a 78" garage clearance height. Looking for some suggestions on what I could do to ensure I don't go over.

My plan is to get the Xtrusion Overland XTR3 bed rack with a iKamper Skycamp 3.0 mini. For the bedrack I also want to get the AXS gates which require a minimum of XTR3 height of 13".

If I'm mathing correct - a 13" XTR3 + skycamp 3.0 mini would make the Mojave sit 79.6" tall (76.1[Mojave stock height] - 23[bedrail to cab height] + 13.5[RTT] + 13[Bedrack]).

Some question I have:
  1. To confirm, is the bedrail to the top of the cab height 23" or 24"?
  2. Would these components + a Decked drawer system weight the Gladiator down enough to get below 78"?
  3. Would lowering tire PSI to 32-34 make the Gladiator sit any lower?
Would love some feedback or suggestions anyone has!

You are getting real close when you have to be thinking of lower air in tires, the I Kamper mini is 13” high compared to the roofnest falcon I was considering is 6.5”. I know it might not fit your build but what else is out there that can save inches on the RTT. The variables you have the rack and RTT, you can’t really change the height of bed caps on Glady or the ceiling of the garage, research some more options, or modify or lose the the AXS gates…..Jack

Man- I was totally going to go preach the GFC…… went out and measured the roof height of ours…. Good luck man. I’m @77” to the top of the cab with a 2” and 37’s :| you are going to be super confined at that height.

And by super confined, I mean a setup that does not stick over the cab height….

Have you considered one of these?
Gazelle T4 Plus Extra Large 4 to 8 Person Portable Pop Up Outdoor Shelter Camping Hub Tent with Rain Fly & Extended Screened in Sun Room, Orange https://a.co/d/dAbBv2w

May not have the overland status as a permanent RTT ?? but they work really well…. And are super fast for setup.

I'd go for a half height rack so the roof top tent sits flush with the roof of the jeep for both garage clearance and wind resistance/fuel economy. There's plenty of 12-12.5" high racks on the market that will put your tent at or only slightly above the roof line. With the decked system and a mid height rack you should still have plenty of storage space.

Also went out in the cold and snow to measure stock Mojave with, 70 pound of added weight of winch in front, and 300 pounds of RSI cap and ARB Elements fridge in or on bed. Top of bed cap to top of hardtop 23” or slightly less. From snow covered driveway to top of hardtop 73” which sounds about right with Rich’s 2” lifted on 37s, he should be about 4” higher.
I really think you should stay as low as you can with the RTT and can’t get one that goes over the hardtop at all. Also keep the RTT behind and below the roof helps with wind resistance and mileage. Damn it is cold out, you’re welcome, Ha!?….Jack

Your Mojave sits 76.1” to top of hardtop? That’s three inches higher then my Mojave and only an inch lower then one with a two inch lift and 37s…..Jack

You simply need a larger garage door opening.

Actually the garage door opening is a thing , my buddy was talking getting his boat in the garage but it wouldn’t fit by two inches, we were standing in the garage . I asked if he adjusted the up travel on door as much as possible , the look on his face was priceless, his door was down about three inches, we did it right then. Just saying….Jack

I have a 13” rack on my Mojave with the ikamper that has rails on top. It just cleared my garage by inch/inch and a half.
