New AJT Design Fob

Got it in Gecko. Getting the transponder chip out of the old fob is a PAIN, but it was worth it in the end, for no more square-ended key sticking me in my pocket.

There’s a video floating around about some guy who did it a different way. He basically did it upside down compared to what everyone else does.

I cannot remember the exact process you showed in the video though. It seemed like he was able to get it together a whole lot easier than everyone else has ever tried.

I tried but currently the left hand had a trigger finger repair Friday and really can't use it yet. I did try the one you are talking about but I am going to have to wait a few more days.

If you place the battery in the spot, notice you can flex it further to the side with the contacts. That's the secret. I came down at an angle, like in the video, but tried to push it over a little when I came down, and it finally went into place.

Man I'm still having nightmares on how much a pita it was to put it together. Never had this issue with other AJT fobs. On another note, I don't know if it's the design or what but the panic button is so sensitive. It's embarrassing sometimes when my pocket triggers that specific button.

My gladiator starting randomly sounding the alarm saturday night. i guess my pocket clutter had smashed the panic button in, it got stuck. any button i would press would just set off the alarm. I had to take it apart to fix. That part took 10 seconds. Putting the battery back in was a 10 minute ordeal.

Very happy still. Haven't had to use the physical key for anything yet. Will try to remember to update this post first time I do.

Has anyone tried the key? Worked ok in the passenger door. Came out of the holder in the drivers door. I sent it back. Excellent customer service!

Be careful of the AJT design. Not sure how this happened but the rear cover came off in my travels. I lost the cover and the blade key. AJT does not sell the cover separately, so you have to buy the entire assembly again plus replace your blade key…..
