So I’ve gotten my new dv8 bumper. The old bumper, plastic overland bumper, has the fog lights wiring daisy chained. Main connection goes to the passenger fog light, then chains over to the driver side light. The wiring is buried in a channel in the bumper.

Did y’all rip out the existing wiring or buy new wiring to connect the fog lights? I see extreme terrain offers an 18” daisy chain that would probably work well.

I re-used the wiring harness out of the old plastic bumper because it was a direct plug-in for my new Mopar fog lights. It was a pain to disassemble the bumper and get the harness out. Took me probably 1-1/2 hours. If the harness is not a direct fit for your new lights, you might just want to fab one up.

I ended up doing the same damn thing. Lol. At least it’s done and I don’t have to wait on parts to finish it. Here’s the finished product.

I had to completely disassemble the bumper to get the wiring out, but needed it to reuse the original fog lights. It was a pain but resulted in plug-in wiring for the lights.

Thats what I ended up doing. The above pics are the factory wiring and fogs.

I reused factory wiring, when I changed out plastic bumper for aftermarket one. I'd guess most do reuse OEM wiring.

I also reused the factory harness. Disassembled the factory plastic bumper, and reassembled after removing the harness. Took about 45 minutes total. Power tools (1/4" impact driver and bits, adapters, and sockets) makes is quick.

I took apart the stock bumper to scavenge the LEDs and wiring. If I had it to do over, I’d just buy new lights and harness and sell my bumper whole.

Me too. I didn’t think about it until I was in the middle of the swap. If I knew ahead of time, I would’ve ordered new lights too.

Same here. Hopefully others will read this and save themselves some time/effort.
