Well that’s a bummer. Sounds like you have a great excuse to go back. Definitely on my list after Bermuda.
Certainly. If not for the stunningly beautiful island of Anguilla then I could settle for the bared European tiddies on St Marten. My cross to bear I suppose.

BTW: The differences between the cultures on the Dutch and French sides of the islands is massive. Once we left the airport we caught a taxi to Marigot to grab the ferry to Blowing Point in Anguilla. The French side from what we saw was filthy and disorganized, traffic was bonkers and not anywhere I'd want to be after dark. The "immigration office" on the French side at the ferry was laughable but it was nice to have an ice cold beer while waiting. The food on the French side was incredibly good though. The Dutch side OTOH was clean, efficient and well run.

Having traveled the Caribbean, Latin America, and parts of South America, Bermuda and elsewhere, I'll take Dutch and British former colonies/overseas holdings/whatever they're called over French or any other nation every day of the week and twice on Sundays.

Interesting. Thanks for the perspective.
