18mm wrench, or socket on a drill, works great too.

What kind of daily driving do you need a 2.5" lift?
He said He was gonna go with a puck , so I suggest a 2" instead of pucks . Same look in the front . But springs will be better.

1.5" springs will level and be enough for 35's.

I am the proud new owner of a 2020 Jeep Gladiator Sport; it has pretty basic trim (3 piece hard top, manual windows/locks), though it does have the towing package. This is my daily driver, but also for offroading and trails. I've yet to do anything to it except buy ATs.

My current (somewhat ordered) list is:
- Rock sliders or steps
- Lift (how high? pucks?)
- Rigid inner door pockets (though I'll keep the netting too)
- Sun net
- (eventually) Trail doors

What's missing? Any tips on where to start?

I'll be flying out of your airport after some driving through the Rockies from Denver on a vacation in a few weeks and would give you the rock sliders I took off my Rubicon when I bought it. But now that I think about it, they probably won't fit in the overhead of the airplane.

If you are going to get to the dirt, you might end up getting it stuck somewhere, likely high centered because of the length of the Gladiator. Harbor Freight winches are so cheap that it should be on your list as well. A winch is like the smoke detector in your house, you hope it never goes off because of a house fire, but thankful you have it installed just in case. I ALWAYS install a winch cover to keep water from getting inside the winch…these are cheap on Amazon.

Bring able to self-rescue is often an overlooked necessity IMHO. I’ve helped so many folks who are stuck without a winch over the years I’ve lost count.

Dang, I actually have rock sliders you could just have, but too far away. I wanted running boards so I have something to put my foot on before stepping out of my jeep. I am a klutz and could see myself just jumping out and face planting the ground!😂

First thing is take out a second mortgage. You will need it for all the mods you will want do once you get started. Next thing is find a good local shop to help you run into a bind on things or do something stupid like hit a mountain wall. Then go full steam ahead.

You have a blank slate. You can make your Gladiator into anything you like. Enjoy it.

What NOT TO DO: (My personal opinion)

20" or bigger wheels and low profile tires

Stick out with above

Chrome ANYTHING

Body lift

Wear Speedos when driving it with the doors off

Angry grill ( as mentioned)

Curb indicators or feelers

Wear white framed sunglasses when driving it, unless you are Elton

Slam it

Be well. Jeep on.
All in good fun.

I don't believe they make body lifts for our JT's, but I agree 100%! Perfect "What NOT to do to your Jeep" list!

I'd start with a good steel bumper that can have a winch plate and winch mounted on it. Then, as others suggest, do a lot of research, get a 2" lift with the correct springs, shocks, and connectors, steer assist. Get a deflate setup, buy a decent portable 12v compressor, then go deflate your tires & test it out. That will also help you understand the need for decent all terrain shoes. After that, there's tons great upgrades you can pursue.

Live with it awhile, some needs will become self-evident to the type of driving you do. That said, if
you are going off-road I'd suggest steel bumpers and a winch, a 2-way radio would be a good idea, check with your buds to see if they are using CB or GMRS. I went for a hard tonneau but others
prefer soft or none, maybe a cap, perhaps a bedliner. Oh and a good jack, I carry a Hi-Lift, but there
are many options. Lighting is another consideration, many, many possibilities Hope your budget
can fulfill your needs, good luck.

Drive it for a while and figure your intended mission with it. If you want steps or something to step on, get them. Look at Facebook Marketplace and other locations for take offs. Get yourself some recovery gear, learn to use it and store it in the vehicle.

Depending on what your tread life is on your current tires, look at tires next, 33's are a good start for your area. I did a lot on 33's without a lift before I decided the direction I wanted to go with mine.
