The answer to this was posted above. It’s natural for most diesels to have a break in period with oil consumption.

You don’t have to worry about this with your 3.6.

Make sure to keep an eye on your rocker/cam, no misfire issues, may want to throw a catch can on there too- Pcv systems sucks a lot of juice….

Maybe, based on your fuel economy, your motor operates off unicorn dust and and will experience zero issues. Based on your reported miles (2600) it may take you a few decades before you hit enough miles to be concerned.
Seems like an added concern to worry about as well

2 quarts isn’t a “small” amount, I’ve read it’s normal for a small amount

Good job, you took two posts to contribute nothing more than speculation. I have a feeling your contributions to this forum- across the board are similar in nature.

Please, tell me more of your diesel experience through the internets.

Your engine oil consumption is based on break-in process and it seems as though it’s more of a headache to maintain a diesel with such issues you don’t have to worry about with a gas, so if you don’t break-in the diesel correctly you’re in for more problems.

It isn’t speculation, 2 quarts of oil is a lot.
