As title says I got a new to me fab fours stubby. The factory coating is good but it's got several spots where it's scuffed up (from shipping) and some places to the metal other places it looks brand new.
Would just a general scuff and rattle can be ok? Not sure how paint over coating works out. It doesn't need to be professional or anything. :)

I’d just rattle can it with chassis paint that matches well. It’ll get scratched again. I touched mine up a dozen times before repainting it completely, and it needs it again. Bumpers get scratched on things. :)

I've found that black plastidip matches the OEM jeep powder coat extremely well, and is more of a thick rubberized coat that doesn't rust through nearly as easily as spray paint. Could also try to find some Eastwood black chassis paint, similar to mentioned above.

Interesting. Is it durable enough to stand up to diy car wash pressure washers?

Yeah, though probably depends on how aggressively you scrub it and how close you hold the washer spray tip. I bought a used OEM steel front bumper that had some minor trail scuffs and I hit it with the plastidip since I had it on hand and its amazing how close it matches, but mine also sits in the garage most of the time as I work from home.

If you're really going to use/abuse it, I'd go with the chassis paint but who knows how well it'll match.

Mine gets used a lot. And parked in the driveway unfortunately. Thx.
