Anyone know what the noise is in this video? It's a new Mojave, just got it this weekened. AC was off here. It happens randomly but most often with going from P to R and R do D. Noise around 6 second mark. Didn't have this with the JL I used to have. Thanks.

Is anyone in the vehicle manipulating anything? Sounds like the brake booster noise mentioned here in other threads.

Well they said it happens when shifting into D so more than likely its the brake booster. (the video wont play here at work)

Edit: it finally played. It's the brake booster. Normal noise.

My 2018 Rubicon makes the same noise but not as loud. My 2020 Willys dose not make that noise. I have not been able to find the source of the noise .

Thank you all for taking the time to reply. Yes I notice it when I shift from P to R to D etc and hold the brake. That kicks it off, but then it cycles a few more times with no one touching anything.

Any cause for concern if it's that loud or just a specific part quirk on this particular Jeep?

Mine only makes it when the brakes are pressed. And just once. Holding the brakes I don’t recall it making the noise again. I saw a thread somewhere about someone’s jeep making that noise over and over and the dealer determined it was leaking and replaced it.

Like others mentioned, it is the electric vacuum pump. There is no manifold vacuum pressure tap, it is all electric by that vacuum pump. When you apply the brakes the first time, it is just re-priming the vacuum pressure. That is normal.

Stole this pic from the JL side.
