I only moved here in August but haven't really had the chance to go anywhere yet I'm a little north of Nashville

sounds good. We have family down below Nashville. And plan on making a spring trip to come see them and camp somewhere along the way.

Well my costly mistake happened. Windshield is no longer fully tinted.

Went to the shop and scheduled our gear install afterwards going with 5:13’s since we have so many mountains we frequent. And if we move up to 38’s we will be set.

ordered the aev snorkel from north ridge. Sucked you can’t use any of their discounts but it will hopefully be here by the weekend I plan on installing it Friday and then hitting the trails.

Did a little test fitting in the passenger side of the rebel rack. Will update with more pics as soon as I figure out which case im officially going with. Will gladly take any options y’all have. The Plano case(will be replaced with something a little thicker/ more robust I just happened to have had this particular one for the last 9 years) will house , all recovery gear ( snatch strap, kinetic rope, soft shackles, hatchet, tree saver, winch remote) axe and shovel. All inside the case. The exterior will have our mini maxtrax maybe or may just be plain. The lid will hinged so it will be somewhat a table. If we need to lay a shackle or something on it during a recovery or repair.

the other box is our all in one propane shower. However we realized we screwed up and the shower needs to be closer to the tailgate since our ladder to the tent is closer to the cab. So we shifted everything around and it fits perfect. However none of this is a permament mod. I am going to put some weld nuts in the cases and weld studs to them to be held onto the rack with either female d rings or just wing nuts for easy on easy off when we aren’t out on a trip.

Oof... sorry the windshield tint didn’t work out. At least your still getting away with the 5% all around though!

Snorkel arrived yesterday but it was in the 70’s still when I got work so doors off and took my daughter to get ice cream. Came home today and decided to test fit everything. Will do the full install this weekend. My wife’s 4R is also getting the higher air feelings too as she finally wore me down to put a snorkel on hers.

Snorkel went on without a hitch. Well a little hitch. We had to a snafu with the cut and had to get a grinder out to smooth it out for the surround you sit flush but once we got that it was a cake walk. So much that I quickly slapped one on the wife’s 4R and then took off the Plano box for a pelican I got on sale and finally finished the recovery / tool box. Only thing I’m still debating is the placement of the tree saver that in 4 years has never been touched. We went ahead and replaced our worn out soft shackles while we are at.

now to go grab some hd chain and make the box lid into a fold down table for trail side repairs or for whippingup a quick sandwich. I may go get some construction adhesive and glue in a section of cutting board on the lid as well.

Had to run to lowes to get some chain and ended up buying a new miter saw and some pvc quick door rack made for the summer days coming up.

A little quick overnight getaway

The first on the list was window tint one of my employees is fortunately married (marriage in progress) to a local tint shop owner and that was my Christmas present from her. (Talk about short notice lol)

we decided that since We do a lot of traveling we wanted something that kept prying eyes out. So we went with 5% tint all the way around and 50% on the windshield. This will probably prove a costly mistake later but so far no issues. However I will say people don’t wave if they can’t see you lol.

Shortly afterwards the boxes really started coming in. About 7 boxes from rebel offroad showed up shortly after Christmas

Next up was wheels and tires which completely changed the look of the gladiator.

you’ll also notice there’s modified rock rails. I’m 90% confident that happened the night I got the gladiator. A friend welded them together for me. You’ll also see the arcus front bumper and winch but more on that later.

After the wheels and tires were on FedEx showed up with a nice few packages from AEV for our suspension and a few components I’m not sure if I have any good pics of that but I quickly got to work on adding the suspension before the snow came in. Which would prove to be very daunting for such an easy install. I will say jeep if you ever see this why in the world would you make the torque value 190 ft/lbs for the links.

Did you Just screw the ax and shovel mounts through the box? do u have a link to that box and is it water tight?

Yes just a well placed bolt through with the threads coming in. Just make sure it’s a short bolt. As far as water tight we’ve had a ton of rain and got over 8” of snow this past weekend and everything was still just as dry as the day I put it in. The box is a one of the harbor freight Apache cases that I snagged on sale for 80.00.
