Nighthawks are rated at 6000 lbs, even without the tow package
From https://www.jeep.com/gladiator/specs.nighthawk.html

Towing capacity (lbs.)

It's that little 1 that is the issue. It means "when properly equipped" as in the optional tow package. The tow package "lite" gives you the 6,000 lb max tow capability. The "Max Tow" package gets you up into the 7k plus range.

Dp7 has that package as noted... I do like how that package in 2025 gives you the Aux switches. Mine doesn't in 2023. I miss those having them in my Ram 2500 with accessories. Trailer hitch zoom is nice. Just a plus sign in red in the corner of the screen that blows it up.

SO, check carefully. Be Sure to order or buy one that has the tow package as I did find one that does NOT have it and so is at the 4500 lb max tow. Not a biggie for most, likely, but reduced potential might get you on trade in if anyone is paying attention.

I would disagree, look for yourself, and do your research. The "When properly equipped", is talking about other stuff on the vehicle adding to the weight, lessening the total weight allowed to tow. The Ratings shown, are for the "base configuration", without a tow package.

https://www.jeep.com/gladiator/specs.nighthawk.html and look at each of the tow ratings for each of the models, for both 24, and 25. You will find that it is exactly as I said. I did not make up the numbers, they are all there in plain english for all to read. I was also told this by the dealership before I bought my Nighthawk. The Nighhawk without any additional tow package, is rated at 6000 lbs.

Jeep is sneaky. You have to read very very closely.

The answer is going to be on your sticker so our opinion is of no consequence. There are some things on the nighthawk like the extra wide axles that point toward MAX Tow, but then a sport without any tow package does NOT have the extra cooling to support 6K. So, to keep from getting sued, Jeep puts the number on the sticker or should... Get a build sheet that will tell you.

Here is the MOPAR site where you can put your VIN in and see the build https://www.mopar.com/en-us/my-vehicle/vin-lookup.html

Look under Special and Other do a control F and search on cooling and tow and look at every things else...

Replace VIN at end of link address with your VIN and you can get your build sheet here:

https://www.jeep.com/webselfservice/BuildSheetServlet?vin=1C6HJTFG7ML537286

(use capital letters for the letters in your VIN)

I did the VIN lookup, and saw everything I had seen before, it has no tow package, but I did have them put a class 4 hitch after negotiating the final out the door price. I am not stating my opinion, I am stating what I was told by the dealer, and what is shown on the JEEP Website. Tell me why they 2024 Nighthawk is the ONLY one on the Jeep website that is rated at 6,000 lbs tow rating.
2024 Models
Sport 4,000 lb tow
https://www.jeep.com/gladiator/specs.sport.html
Sport S 4,000 lb tow
https://www.jeep.com/gladiator/specs.sport-s.html
NightHawk 6,000 lb tow
https://www.jeep.com/gladiator/specs.nighthawk.html
Willys 4,000 lb tow
https://www.jeep.com/gladiator/specs.willys.html
Mojave 4,500 lb tow
https://www.jeep.com/gladiator/specs.mojave.html
Mojave X 4,500 lb tow
https://www.jeep.com/gladiator/specs.mojave-x.html
Rubicon 4,500 lb tow
https://www.jeep.com/gladiator/specs.rubicon.html
Rubicon X 4,500 lb tow
https://www.jeep.com/gladiator/specs.rubicon-x.html

If you look at the 2025 Models, I have already looked, they are ALL show 6,000 lb Tow ratings. In my OPINION, the 2024 Nighthawk came with whatever change occurred for the 2025 models and that is why it is the only model in 2024 without a tow package that is rated at 6,000 lbs towing.

2025 Models, look for yourself, Lower end models are 6,000 lbs Towing rated
https://www.jeep.com/2025/gladiator/specs.sport.html
https://www.jeep.com/2025/gladiator/specs.nighthawk.html
https://www.jeep.com/2025/gladiator/specs.sport-s.html
https://www.jeep.com/2025/gladiator/specs.willys.html
https://www.jeep.com/2025/gladiator/specs.big-bear.html

2025 Higher end Models are rated at 7,000 lbs Towing rated.
https://www.jeep.com/2025/gladiator/specs.mojave.html
https://www.jeep.com/2025/gladiator/specs.mojave-x.html
https://www.jeep.com/2025/gladiator/specs.rubicon.html
https://www.jeep.com/2025/gladiator/specs.rubicon-x.html

The when properly equipped notation, in my opinion, if you add stuff, like a 1000 lbs into the bed of the truck, you reduce your towing capacity by 1000 lbs.

I was able to make it work with a different nighthawk VIN, for some reason its not liking mine. If the you follow the specs on the max tow package, the stuff that really matters is heavy duty cooling, the class IV hitch and Dana 40 axles with 4.10 gears (unless I am mistaken). Mine did not come with a class IV hitch but I got one from mopar, but it comes with heavy duty cooling and wide axles minus the 4.10 gears. Should be safe to read between the lines and justify the 6k lbs towing capacity.

Thanks for sharing

I should've mentioned, you need caps for the letters in your VIN number. And if you unsuccessfully look up a VIN, you'll need to clear cache or use a different browser.

I forgot the 4.10 gears as likely the key element of the "MAX TOW" Package along with the heavy duty cooling. I figure the wide axles adding apparently from other posts approx 1.5 inches to 1.75 width just enhances stability. IF you have the heavy duty cooling, 3.73 gears I'm almost certain you have the 6K tow rating. But NOT putting on a hitch has always been a telltale on these indicating NO tow package I had thought. Then again, Jeep does so some weird stuff sometimes...

I wouldn't believe anything a dealer tells me. It is the very rare salesman or even manager that knows their product down to build levels. I was lucky in that when I bought I asked the sales manager WHY MOST of his Gladiators above sport had the four wheel drive auto vs almost all other dealers (Selec Trac for non Rubicons/Rock Trac for Rubicons). He said he did it whenever he could for Rams also then pointed outside to the four inches of snow and said, because of where we live. So, he knew his stuff. It's pretty worthless in Sunny climes like So Cal or Florida S. Texas, but a major deal in Montana...

I got it to come up on the 3rd browser.

Equipment Listing

Thanks
You found the "actual" build sheet web link. Anyone can do this. Paste it into your browser https://www.jeep.com/webselfservice/BuildSheetServlet?vin=1C6HJTAG0RL131381

Then just replace that VIN number with your particular vehicle VIN number and it will pull yours up.

This is mine... https://www.jeep.com/webselfservice/BuildSheetServlet?vin=1C6HJTAG1PL519491

Generally, the TOW PACKAGE is specifically mentioned as is the "heavy duty cooling" in the options section...

Ah, yes I saw that. When I compared it to another nighthawk which did have the tow package, that one did say HD cooling. Oh well, its purchased already and thankfully I dont tow much and dont see my self doing it. Wondering what the HD cooling package consists on...

Picked up a 2024 Nighthawk in white. Is there anything to show you are # of 2000? Did not see anything on my window sticker.
Not that I know of, but congrats on the Nighthawk!

Bought a 2025 a week ago. Pretty great platform so far. Mods are going to be pretty limited at first and mostly just adding factory options it doesn't have. Auto headlights, trailer hitch, bedliner, maybe approach door handles and remote start?? Level and 35s when these tires are worn out would be cool.
