I've noticed in the last few months that I have some weird noises coming from my hard top, kind of like it moving around at speed. With the radio on it's not really an issue but it's been bugging me for a while now. I haven't really done anything outside of unlocking and locking all of the latches for the front freedom panels, just curious if anyone else has dealt with and/or fixed this?

Until then, I'll consider it a feature that reminds me I'm still driving a purpose built brick that engineers have added enough creature comforts to in order to sell to more than the diehards.

Thanks!

There was another thread a week or so ago where a fella found the cold seemed to have loosened his hard top bolts.

So maybe check there, re tighten those down. Just dont go donkey kong with the wrench so you dont damage the top.

That would be an awesome place to start. It's actually been raining, so I haven't had a chance to take the freedom panels off to check but that makes absolute sense to me, especially considering the extremes of temp changes we see from 110+ degrees in the summer to 20-30 degrees overnight in the winter.

Okay found my issue… along with a loose rear portion of the hard top…. I still had the annoying squeak. I took the freedom panels off today to figure it out today and found it was my aftermarket grab handles. They’d come somewhat loose but not nearly enough to notice and the metal was hitting the freedom panel. I took some time with a rotary tool and it won’t become an issue again, even if it does loosen once again.
