Sours are what we used to call "skunky beer". It was beer that had gone bad and we threw it out. Ha!

Microbreweries have done a fine job marketing themselves as the hip and cool, and domestics like PBR, Coors, or Miller as the unhip and uncool. I used to be one of those who showed up at the local breweries and was all into the IPA's. I wasn't happy unless I was picking hops out from between my teeth after downing one. I got absolutely tired and bored of it all. I had gained weight and was paying $6 or more for a pint - thanking them for the privilege.

Now I enjoy a refreshing Miller Lite. I can drink those all afternoon on the beach or at a party if I want to, and they're good. I'll go sometimes and have an IPA socially, but it's not my main choice.

It’s an acquired taste, one I developed probably before you could spell I. P. A. There are few beers I’ll reject, even Coors light. Then again, any beer with fruit in it really isn’t beer and exists only to allow people who don’t like beer to call themselves beer drinkers. That all started with limes in Corona, a reprehensible assault on an otherwise fine beer.
You had me until no lime in a corona. That’s like Oreos with no milk.

Also: EYE PEE AAA. Pretty sure that’s how it’s spelt.

I love them. IPA’s to me are kind of like whiskey, as the other poster said it’s an acquired taste. I can respect if other people enjoy it even if it mostly tastes like rubbing alcohol. Either way, not everything sucks just because you don’t like it lol. What a boring world we would live in if we all liked the same things.
Hold on, so you dont like whiskey but you do like IPA's? Man now i know we cant be friends!

I'm the kinda person that changes their drink with the seasons... from frozen daquiris and seltzers in summer, to busch/miller (maybe a cider or 2) in the fall, to Guinness and Jameson through the winter, then normally Yuengling or red Stripes in the spring. That being said... I actually don't drink much... to much crap to try and get done!

I never said I don’t ā€˜like’ whiskey. I said, it’s an acquired taste and I can respect anyone that says they like it. Doesn’t change the fact that most hard alcohol tastes like rubbing alcohol. You don’t just grab whiskey and drink it and say, ā€œmmm omg I’ve been missing this in my life!ā€

I mean, read the crap they say in reviews.

ā€œA generous nose, with chocolate-covered cherries, candied orange peel, menthol, cola, pine nuts, caramel, corn bread, and varnish. Piles of baking spice and dark chocolate shavings on the palate mingle with raspberry jam, orange peel, gingersnaps, cinnamon, and mint; water amplifies and brightens the fruit character. A lip-smacking finish of dark chocolate, mint, tobacco, and polished oak.ā€

GTFO with this nonsense. They’re like the wine aficionados. Off topic, i have a culinary license/degree. The best thing I learned about wine was, ā€œIf you like it’s good no matter the price. Don’t let anyone else convince you it’s bad because it isn’t expensive or they don’t like it.ā€

Applies to most things. Some people will tell you Brussels sprouts aren’t good, I say learn how to cook.
