I sent you a PM but I would personally just focus on getting them to program a 4 button key as a "spare" key.So what do i ask the dealer ? I want a new 4 button key with remote start activated?
I live in Chicago it's warm but I have to get this done before winter was it simple to complete?Hi, I also wanted the OEM remote start and wanted to post that I successfully had it added to my 2023 JTR (Auto) following the instructions in this post.
Used JScan to update the module and enabled remote start. Purchased key fob part # 68416784AD and took to the dealer. They programmed the key fob and said they added the remote start sales code to the vehicle (unsure if that is needed) and it worked! Thanks for this thread!
Not "needed" however, it's good in case you need any sort of a module flash or change - you won't lose those settings. And when I traded, the dealer was happy to see that I had gotten my passive entry added to the VIN - when they looked up the truck for value, it was right there and they appreciated that. They programmed the key fob and said they added the remote start sales code to the vehicle (unsure if that is needed) and it worked!
Yes relatively easy. I was new to JScan so I read their website and bought the Vgate vLinker MC+ bluetooth connector (other options available as well) and the TTXSPP cable adapter for programming, found the wires under the dash and took 5 min to connect, program, and turn it on. Then just the time to order the 4 button fob and get the dealer to program it to the car.I live in Chicago it's warm but I have to get this done before winter was it simple to complete?
got it sorted. had to get it up to atleast 30mph to activate.I have a 2023 Gladiator Overland Auto, Power Locks and Windows, Proximity and Keyless Entry. I bought a 4 button key and had it cut and programmed by a locksmith. I used JSCAN to set Remote Start Present to Active and the remote start does not function. Is there something that I am not doing right, or am I missing a component?
Now I know you're "off" LOLActually it does, at 30MPH the airbag system arms, and it updates the communication between the ECM and BCM, both of which are required for remote start.
Basically the BCM has the remote start code, but the ECM hasn't updated to have knowledge that remote start is allowed. Once you hit 30MPH and the re-sync of the relationship happens the ECM knows that the BCM will send it remote start commands.
Bud, you're talking to the guy who wrote the write-up and the entire reason the Sales Code is now available for Gladiator. You're operating with incomplete information. I actually know cause I have verbose logs. Now I know you're "off" LOL
Airbags don't "arm" at a speed, they "arm" when the ignition is ON even if the car is parked or stopped.
And they can deploy when the vehicle speed is about 10 mph or so, depending on the impact detected.
Sorry, you have some really bad info there.
These modules talk way before 30 mph - in fact with enough mismatch, it won't even START.
Be careful, there's a lot of guys here who want to lynch Jeep programmers and such for some of the illogical crap inside some of these modules, like the ambient temp not updating until you hit 35 mph and for some - it ain't gonna happen.Bud, you're talking to the guy who wrote the write-up and the entire reason the Sales Code is now available for Gladiator. I don't believe youBud, you're talking to the guy who wrote the write-up and the entire reason the Sales Code is now available for Gladiator. You're operating with incomplete information. I actually know cause I have verbose logs.
There is no 30 mph to turn on the air bag system. Turn the ignition on, car not moving, they can work. You don't need to get up to 30 in order for air bags to work.I don't believe you.
