I’m sure it was fine when it was first installed (been on the truck since 2022) but as a long term solution I wouldn’t trust it. I did the math and my tire and wheel is 130# I think it would be fine with less than 100# on it. I’ll continue to use it for camping gear but will likely still need to buy the new latch kit at some point.
