I just used a bypass cable and a generic OBDII Bluetooth adapter with JSCAN.

Hmmm, So that's a cable with an SGW Bypass built in. I assume the two cables that normally plug into the SGW on the Jeep had to go into the two female connectors on that cable while you were programming it. If you were to unplug the SGW cables on the Jeep and plug them into that, I assume then that would be like my ECRI dongle that also has the two female sockets on it.

That's a little more unwieldy to leave constantly connected I suppose compared to the ECRI but just for giggles you could maybe try it and see if it brings back your gauges.

This is what I used:

https://www.amazon.com/ECRI-Security-2018-2020-Wrangler-Gladiator/dp/B08DLB6VH6

It's small enough I could velcro it up under the dash and just leave the damn thing there. ECRI says there's no harm in leaving it connected, just remove it before any dealer service and plug back in to the Jeep's SGW connectors instead.

Mine used to have several missing apps until I got a ways from home.
It's been fine lately so either it's more able to reach the cloud or they've changed something.
When I parked by my shop, I didn't have ORP and the icon would even disappear until I got a ways from home.
And yeah, I recall thinking exactly what you said when I saw what was going on! What about people in Alaska where there's no cell service for thousands of square miles?! LOL
Mine takes 1-2 minutes before all the generic "U" icons turn into actual icons, like Off-Road Pages. I do not have the cellular connection installed on my Jeep so there's no way it can talk to the mother ship. But unless I leave the ECRI SGW Bypass installed the ORP gauge screen only shows 2 working gauges.

Hell I would love to see the vehicle make the call then tell me that is the reason it doesn't work...I WANT an error message!!!!

Yeah, it would be nice if it actually told you why it only wants to show 2/5 gauges but this is like chasing a ghost trying to figure it out. :)

I know for me, using JSCAN to enable ORP, it does work with 5/5 gauges if I leave the SGW Bypass installed. I'm hoping a few others between here and the Wrangler forum can try it as well and see if we can develop a pattern here.

Everyone I've talked to on the Wrangler forum that used the Tazer to turn on ORP has left the Tazer installed. Then it acts as an SGW Bypass so that doesn't confirm that it would work if you took the Tazer out.

If I can get confirmation from someone that used the Tazer that it still works with all gauges functional without the Tazer installed then I might spring for one.

If you've already enabled the ORP, you don't even need JSCAN or the OBDII connection at this point. Just plug in the bypass and the ORP gauges should magically start working :)

I know it doesn't either. But look at this:

https://www.infotainment.com/produc...pages-programmer-c-orp?variant=31054959247396

They sell an OBDII dongle JUST FOR ENABLING ORP and it's $179! And look what it says in the details:

The bypass device must remain installed for the Off Road Pages to function. Do NOT remove the Bypass Module once installed.

I wrote to their tech support to ask why that is, and this is what they said:

The bypass needs to be installed because if removed the security in the vehicle will disable the programming for off road pages.

That seems to me to be further confirmation that for some solutions a SGW Bypass must be in place for ORP to work correctly.

So what they are doing is selling a hack to get ORP for a vehicle that isn't supposed to have ORP.
Reminds me of the dark web places that used to have the install keys for major software apps like PhotoShop and others.

I think they are just setting the same bit to enable ORP that JSCAN and Tazer do, all packaged up easy to use that's all. And charging $180 for it.

WE HAVE CONFIRMATION

Good work! So this is 2 for 2 now (me and you) that have confirmed that the SGW bypass does indeed seem to be required to get the gauges to work. Plus the infotainment.com website basically saying the same thing.

I'm guessing you have the 6-speed? I have a transmission temp gauge too but that wouldn't be there obviously if you haves a manual.

Again, thanks for confirming this!
