To start yes, I’ve read the owners manual.
I’ve owned a Jeep with a 3.6Ltr engine since we bought a Grand Cherokee in 2015. Currently have a 2022 Sport S Gladiator and a 2021 GC.
We recently moved so I had to find a new dealership to take care of our Jeeps. First service on my Gladiator was free since we are new to the area. Next I took my wife’s GC in, and a couple of weeks later the Gladiator for another service. I get home and look over the work order and it shows 6 quarts of oil. Go back and check the GC, yes 6 quarts of oil. Check the complimentary oil change and 5 quarts. Check the owners manual and past receipts and yep, 5 quarts.
I call the dealership and the service writer said sorry both were a mistake and they would refund for the extra quart of oil from each service. Transferred me to the business manager who tells me the oil capacity is 5.5 quarts and they charge everyone for 6 quarts. I mentioned the owners manual, past service records including the complimentary one from their dealership. He insisted that I was wrong but would refund the 2 quarts. Sent me a check for 1 quart and hasn’t returned my call requesting a refund for the other quart.
Anyone else heard of these vehicles taking 5.5 quarts?
Yes, I’m finding a different dealer to take care of my service.
