Hello all. I have a 22 rubicon and my question is should I be ok to do 7500 oci’s? I used penzoil platinum the first change at about 6000. I work out of town and rack up a lot of mileage. Basically my concern is the tire rotation at 7500 intervals, I want to do both at the same time. Thanks for the help.

I'd change the oil and do rotations at ~10% of oil life. That's roughly 7000-10,000 miles depending on how you drive in my experience. Any sooner than about ~10% is a waste of money imo.

they way you drive the oil would likely be fine. I wouldn't wait that long for tire rotations though.

Do you think another 2500 would make that much difference?

I’ve had eight Jeep vehicles in a row, and I usually put in excess of 150,000 miles on them before I am tempted to trade them in for a newer Jeep, and I have used the same technique for each, regardless of improvements in oil technology, etc.

Oil change at every 5,000 miles, and tire rotation every other oil change. Mostly without fail, consistently. My results are that my tires usually last me longer that they say they will, no matter what kind of driving I’m doing, and I’ve had zero engine problems in any of my vehicles over the years.

When people say, “You’re wasting money,” I just say, it’s my money to waste on my own peace of mind, and I go have fun in my Jeep!

I’m the guy who picked up my brand new Gladiator on June 17th, 2019, ordered from the factory, and left on the 18th on a five month, 24,000 mile road trip that, in addition to a couple of weeks in Moab, also took me up the haul road to Deadhorse / Prudhoe Bay, Alaska. I did five oil changes on the road, and tire rotations every other oil change. I’m now at 90,000 miles and zero problems that weren’t caused by batteries. I finally replaced my stock tires at about 80,000 miles and upgraded to 35’s. They’ll get the same treatment.

just sayin’

Owners manual only gives the guidance to rotate the tires at every oil change. Since it also says to not exceed 10K miles for an oil change regardless, you will be fine doing both the oil and tire rotation at the same time at 7.5K miles.

I am of the opinion a vehicle that is driven more often, is better maintained with slightly longer intervals than one driven less and shorter intervals.
