This is my first Jeep and my first diesel.

At around 1k miles, maybe less before I actually noticed it, I'm getting a little oil spot on the ground under the center of the engine.
I'm also at 50% on the DEF gauge with about 1,300 miles now. I'm hoping the selling dealer didn't fill it up properly.

The DEF typically only has a couple of gallons in it from the factory. I filled mine up and have almost 4K miles on it, some of it pulling our camper and I’m just below half.

4500 miles and I needed a new engine too that lol
???
I'm a looking time Toyota guy so I'm doing my best with this.
I love the Gladiator and the EcoDiesel is a great choice for pulling our camper. My wife will be the primary driver while I put 40k/yr on my Tacoma.
I just hope this oil leak is a simple fix and not something like an oil pan gasket that requires the motor to come out to change it.

It’s under warranty bud. I’ve driven diesel most of my life and leaks do happen especially under break in periods. Fill the DEF and have the dealer check it out. You have beautiful ride and it’s not unusual to expect it to be perfect. Enjoy it, drive it and welcome to the group!

Oil leak under center of a new Gen 3 engine is almost always the timing cover leak. Has happened to a lot of guys. Mine was done at around 5,000 miles.

The dealer will need to order parts and it may take a while to get them due to current supply chain issues. I'd suggest having them get the parts on order ASAP.

Once they get the parts, plan for a couple of days for repair. Quite a bit of the top of the engine comes apart to make access for the timing cover. In my case an injector was already seized in the head. Took excessive work to remove.

I've put 9,000 miles on mine since the repair and so far zero additional leaks. I think it'll be good to go now.

Here's what it looks like during a timing cover repair on one of these Gen 3s. They don't have to remove the engine from the truck, but the fuel lines, rail, injectors, valve covers, etc. all have to come out.

Wow!!
Did they give you something to drive while it was in the shop?
I'm new to Jeep and their level of service.

Look at your door tag and tell us the build date on your truck please. I'm trying to see if these ones that are leaking were built last year or if they're recent.
