I would push for ordering w/o putting a deposit. When it comes in same haggling as normal! That's what I did. I searched for a dealer that would order what I wanted w/o a deposit!

I was looking online today and saw the Jeep dealer down the street from me has twenty-two Gladiators on the lot. Twenty-two! And the example I test drove a few weeks ago is still there. One would think they'd be ready to deal on their current inventory. Hmmm...

That's exactly how mine went down. Friend of mine test drove it weeks ago, was still there after 3 months and I got a smoking deal on it.

I would like my experience to go this way as well. Dealer has one on the lot that fits the spec I was looking for

As a point of reference...

I recently test drove a Gladiator at my local Jeep dealer. They were surprisingly pleasant and helpful. The rep actually knew a lot about the truck. I liked the Gladiator I drove, but they offered me $3,000 below MSRP which is more than I wanted to pay. They called me a week later. I was honest and told them I would rather order a truck from the Jeep dealer near Boise and get 6% below invoice. They called me back and said they could do 4% below invoice if I ordered and got a Tread Lightly code. That seemed reasonable to me and saves me a trip to Idaho. So, I'm scraping up as much as can for a down payment and will soon order my Gladiator. :)

Based on my experience and the typical experience of others, I think you're more likely to get a better deal by ordering a Gladiator rather than buying from current stock. I would suggest being honest with a dealer and asking what they can do for you in either case. If they're pugnacious about it, go to another dealer. Last I checked, we don't live in North Korea.
Whats the dealership name and city location in Idaho please??

I just completed a deal for a Rubicon on the lot and got 4% under invoice. If I ordered I would end up with a red dash which I hate. Found what I wanted on a lot.

Good to know! I would really like my local dealer to do 4% below invoice on the truck I test drove. I'll keep asking.
