Very nice collection. Love the Garand with the scout scope.
We have a collection as well with Garands, BAR, 1911, and a few other WW2 and Vietnam era guns in the M16 and Stevens 77E shotgun.
The M1 carbine is a replica in 22LR which is hoot to shoot

Some of the collections on this page are seriously impressive! Between the road trips, the bikes, and all the classic military hardware, it’s clear everyone here has plenty to keep themselves busy when they're not wrenching on their Jeeps. It’s always cool seeing what other hobbies people are into outside of off-roading. Definitely gives me a few new ideas (and ways to burn money) for my own downtime

So my other obsession or hobby is trying to find ways to do things better with no power or with the free power I already have installed. This is a simple gravity fed drip irrigation system that utilizes a 64 gallon trash can for the moment. Wife is going to make up her mind one day about what type of fancy rain barrel thing she wants to replace that with. Bottom line is: It works. It waters and I can fill
It probably once a week and run it for an hour or so a day to keep the ground wet but not soaked so the tree hopefully come back. If not they’ll get replaced. Any questions just ask.

Have you heard of a hydraulic ram pump? It uses the hydraulic water hammer effect to create water pressure. Needs no power to run, you just have to kick it off to start by hand and then it’ll just run. You can build one with parts from the local hardware store or by one off Amazon.

I have heard of them and looked into it but for my use case it isn’t really plausible. If I was feeding the reservoir from a natural spring or a creek or something I’d consider one. In this instance, the trees need deep watering a few times a week with our current temps. For refilling the reservoir the 240V well pump is on the solar system so it costs me nothing to refill the reservoir during the day when the sun is shining. Just takes elbow grease to get the hose drug all the way out there. Right now for 3 trees and a 64gal reservoir I’m estimating a refill every 10 days or so to top off the tank. If and when we add 2 more trees that are in the plans it might go down to every 8 days. We shall see.
