Hey,

I’m thinking of getting an Overland trim and want to put 35’s or 315/70r18 or maybe even 37’s. I plan to do a 2.5-3.5 lift as well. Would I be able to fit either of these tires on the factory wheel?? If you have this setup could you let me know what you did and possibly pics

thanks

I went fairly conservative with my Overland; 285/70r18 (34") tires with 18 x 8" (+30) wheels and later went with the AEV suspension and an inch and a half Teraflex spacer. I recently regeared to 4.56, and surprisingly, get 20+mpg on trips.

Gotta figure bigger tire will need at least an 8 1/2" wide wheel, and 37s you'll definitely need a regear.

4" Frankenstein lift with 37's on Rubi rims. Using Teraflex 1.75" spacers.

You’re going to need spacers to keep from rubbing at/near full steering lock. My 35’s on Mojave wheels just barely rub at lock with no spacers.

Can you? Yes
Should you? Your call.

Pull up the tires you're contemplating on the manufacturer web sights and you'll find the recommended wheel width's.

What I've found...
Jeep Gladiator Overland Tires 1692754003801

Jeep Gladiator Overland Tires 1692754292664

Problem 1. It's an E rated or 10 ply tire, which are meant for 3/4 or 1-ton trucks...not a jeep. Problem 2, The minimum approved rim width is 8 inches making the factory wheel too narrow.

Again...an E Rated tire with a minimum 8 inch wheel width.

Another issue is the 18" wheel. Think Ford superduty. Most of the 18" tires you're seeking are in the load range E rating.

Now, if you change over to a 17 in wheel, there are tons of 8.5 width wheels, you'll have better floatation when aired down, you'll have a much larger selection of tires in D and even C load ranges and they'll be a little less expensive.

Have a 2022 Overland. Also, have a Mopar Lift still in the box. But I already put 35s on my stock rims. Cooper Discoverer AT3 XLT 285-75-18. Specs below. Liked these for sidewall strength for towing, lighter weight for better starting, stopping and mileage. And I like the narrow stance. Prefer the Pizza Cutter style as opposed to the wide balloon monster tires. Anyway, no rubbing any where. Stock fenders and front bumper. Installing the Mopar Lift will only increase my clearances. NOTE: This is a daily driver. No Rock Climbing or forcing the suspension into outrageous contortions.

2019 Overland. 2.5" Mopar lift. 37x13.50-17" Yoko Geo X-AT tires. Quiet on the road up until about 30,000 miles (If you offroad and rock crawl). I got 52,000 miles out of my last set. I run American Racing Baja II wheels. They're light and not expensive so it doesn't bother me when I bash them because I rock crawl. I also tow a lot and the tires handle pretty good towing. Towed a 4,000lb trailer from TX to FL and it handled well. I also daily drive my Jeep. I usually run about 26-28psi when aired up.

To avoid rubbing, you will either need to add spacers or find another wheel with a different backspace to prevent that. I know someone that has a Rubicon with 37s on the factory wheels that rub on full lock. And keep in mind that it will also depend a little on the brand/type of tire as well.

I've been on the same lift for four years. Been on the 37s for over two years. Regeared to 4.88s two years ago. Regeared again and added lockers at the beginning of this year. I've run DV8 slim fender flares for four years with no rust or issues and earlier this year I cut them down into crawler fenders for more clearance when flexed. I have inner fender liners. If you decide to rock crawl, the tires will get into your fenders if you don't have extended bumpstops.

I know I mentioned a lot of stuff, but I wanted to give you the results of when you mix different parts to make it work like it's supposed to work.
