First things first; I searched but did not find this particular DTC listed anywhere in the forum.

Yesterday afternoon my 21 JT popped on the check engine light with the codes listed in my screenshot below. I have not noticed any driving/handling/performance difference yet.

Heading to the dealer tomorrow to have them run a scan and see what else they can see beyond my limited visibility through torque and j-scan.

Any thoughts on possible culprits or things the service team should check are appreciated.

@JeepCares - tagging you just to keep you informed.

Update: Dealer can't get me in until tomorrow afternoon, but they did scan my rig when I dropped by. Here's the updated DTC list:

Jeep Gladiator P0158 DTC at ~2200 miles 20211216_093614

Note: Although I have begun the overland mods I have not tapped into any OEM electrical runs other than via a splitter from the console 12V (the only ignition based power that does not interfere with vehicle electrical system), and currently that's only the ground that's connected at the passenger foot well spare body ground location.

Based on your scan, I was going to say it looked like a bad O2 sensor. The inability to run closed loop makes sense if the O2 sensor is bad because it isn't giving the ECU the info it needs to run in closed loop. So it just runs off static maps.

But that other stuff threw me for a loop. (pun intended) Hmm.

Maybe its a bad O2 sensor AND something else. Stranger things have happened.

Truth is definitely stranger... Having had XJs and TJs and eventually being able to hunt down their electrical gremlins is one thing... The way things are wired, networked, and interrelated today makes home diagnosis significantly more challenging.

I almost expect the system to talk to me and tell me "These are not the droids you're looking for"

Some old school knowledge can still be helpful these days.

I had a VW where the cruise wouldn't work. The dealer wanted to swap out the cruise control module to attempt a fix for something like $400.

I asked if it didn't fix the problem would they credit me back. They said no.

So I researched it online and found a product called VAG-Com. Its basically a full function Volkswagon Audi scan tool equivalent to what a dealer has.

I bought the OBD2 connector and paid the $60 for the full license and found a "intermittent brake light switch failure".

The cruise gets its cue to turn off from the brake light switch. So if you were writing the code to run the cruise control wouldn't you disable it if you weren't getting consistently good data from the brake light switch? That's what I would do.

So I went to the VW dealer and bought a new $18 switch.

After an hour on my back in the driver footwell, 4 skinned knuckles, 300 f-bombs, I had the switch in and the cruise was fixed.

Old school diagnostic skills. New school tools.

I got the P1058 and P1E0A at 200 miles. Hopefully the dealer can resolve it quickly.

@JeepCares Got the vehicle back after a week long wait. Changed the O2 sensor and brought it home. The next day the CEL came back on and I got the same code. At this point it's only the P1058 again. Definitely not happy to be taking my jeep with 250 miles back to the shop. At this point it's been in the shop longer than I've had it in my posession.

Going in for the 3rd time for a CEL. Dealership has had my Gladiator more than I have at this point. Getting tired of driving rentals. Would like to drive the $50k vehicle that I purchased. Tons of lost time, work etc. should have stuck with Toyota.
