So Wednesday 6 Nov I get a check engine light while picking up a new water heater for the house that I had to drive 40 miles for. Since I have odd sized water heater there were none local
(yeah I know people find it hard to believe a gladiator owner uses their truck for truck stuff). 17k miles on truck. I used reader and it shows P026D code tried resetting and it came right back on. 7 Nov light is still on. Mpg has dropped and regens are more frequent. Called dealership to make appt(first available tomorrow 11 Nov). On Friday had chance to look around truck and notice oil wetness.... no drips but wet/shiny drivers side under air box area down to the sway bar mounts. ohh maybe this will be an easy fix.... Cold side charge pipe has a nick that has turned into a leak about 2 inches from connector to intercooler. Could have happened while being built at factory or when techs pulled HPFP at Toledo before it shipped to dealership.
Don't know how many days it was like this but oil dampness wasn't there on Sunday when I washed it.
Call dealership see if they have charge pipe available or can be ordered. Not available , current wait 8 or so days. Implement plan B.... 100mph tape and another hose clamp over the hole area.
Put another wrap of tape on top of the clamp to hold it in place once tightened.... re installed... I think it solved part of the problem, but light is still on and the truck has gone into regen less than 50 miles from last regen.... Curious as to what other components are continuing to affect this. We will see what dealership comes up with when I drop it off tomorrow. More to follow after techs get a look at it.
Possibilities listed elsewhere:
Injector clogged.
MAF dirty/faulty.
fuel issue.
Leak somewhere else in charge pipes.
clogged emissions components.
turbo issue.
wiring harness issue.
