So Wednesday 6 Nov I get a check engine light while picking up a new water heater for the house that I had to drive 40 miles for. Since I have odd sized water heater there were none local

(yeah I know people find it hard to believe a gladiator owner uses their truck for truck stuff). 17k miles on truck. I used reader and it shows P026D code tried resetting and it came right back on. 7 Nov light is still on. Mpg has dropped and regens are more frequent. Called dealership to make appt(first available tomorrow 11 Nov). On Friday had chance to look around truck and notice oil wetness.... no drips but wet/shiny drivers side under air box area down to the sway bar mounts. ohh maybe this will be an easy fix.... Cold side charge pipe has a nick that has turned into a leak about 2 inches from connector to intercooler. Could have happened while being built at factory or when techs pulled HPFP at Toledo before it shipped to dealership.
Don't know how many days it was like this but oil dampness wasn't there on Sunday when I washed it.

Call dealership see if they have charge pipe available or can be ordered. Not available , current wait 8 or so days. Implement plan B.... 100mph tape and another hose clamp over the hole area.

Put another wrap of tape on top of the clamp to hold it in place once tightened.... re installed... I think it solved part of the problem, but light is still on and the truck has gone into regen less than 50 miles from last regen.... Curious as to what other components are continuing to affect this. We will see what dealership comes up with when I drop it off tomorrow. More to follow after techs get a look at it.

Possibilities listed elsewhere:
Injector clogged.
MAF dirty/faulty.
fuel issue.
Leak somewhere else in charge pipes.
clogged emissions components.
turbo issue.
wiring harness issue.

Update:

Dealership checked to make sure fuel quantities from injectors were within limits and they are with the new air hole in the boost hose covered up. Injectors are within limits. MAF was not dirty. No other issues identified. That single tear/nick in the cold charge pipe was enough to throw off fuel (not getting the amount of air computer had identified for that RPM/Boost...making the fuel too rich and basically clogging up the exhaust)

New hose on order along with the steering column recall items (mine failed the connectivity test to the airbags). My temporary fix is holding but I have been told "Don't make any max boost runs" as the tape wrapped around the hose will still peel/bubble up under boost.

ECM was reset and now on 3 days of driving with no regens only gone up 25% since Monday and light is still off. MPG has gone back up to close to what it was before. Have to get appt for them to put new hose back on next week once it gets here since this is warranty work. Recall steering column parts will take longer.

..they cant just give me the new boost hose for me to put on myself lol.... and after they install the new hose mechanics want to run it thru a stationary regen cycle or two to burn all the loose gunk that got shifted into the exhaust to ensure exhaust system lives a long life.

I went ahead and ordered new air filter from Dieselfiltersonline.com to be changed when I change oil filter and fuel filter here in 2k miles for my 20k service......

Update #2

New parts came in for cold side charge pipe and steering column switches. Dealership was able to install parts on Friday 15 Nov. Other than having to reset the Uconnect radio no issues at all(the Jeep forgot that it was in a Rubicon and the off road pages and auto climate control went wonky until it was hard-rebooted)

We put over 250 miles on it this weekend and the regen distance is back to normal. No more weird % DPF numbers where it was going up and down based upon how it was feeling for the day. Pretty sure all of this extra crap in the exhaust system will probably shorten the normal lifespan...but that us what the extended warranty is for ;) Having the Banks I-Dash allowed me to see the problem as it developed.

My dieselfilter.com order came in so I installed the new air filter before the B-day road trip for my wife.

I can report that the P026D Problem is solved. Now to get rid of the annoying renew your subscription Sirius Guardian call now screen.

If it does come up again, look at the map sensor not the maf sensor. It will be dirty and will cause performance problems. It will also cause a p026d. It sounds like you got it though.
